Apparently Jared Allen is looking for the same deal that Ware is getting.

3/30 with 20 guaranteed? I think I gotta pass on that one. If we're shifting to a more hybrid approach anyways we can find better fits with a lot less cap.

Yeah...I like Tuck or Clemons.

Hahaha...Lamarr Houston is on The Score saying that Marc Trestman looks like the 1960's Riddler.

I'm curious what they're gonna do with the extra cap room. We definitely need more bodies on the D-line, especially at DE.

DE and CB seem the no doubt spots.

These safeties honestly seem like good signings to me. My impression from the PFF rankings I get peaks at is that your average players are really bunched up and a guy in the 50-70 overall ranking is not necessarily a below average player, especially if they were a full time player- it's just that your average player really doesn't provide that much excess value, only the top guys do. Also doesn't seem that predictive. So better off relying on scouting and scheme fit than PFF rankings.

That said both these guys seem stronger on the run, so I'm sure they'll compete for one spot and well still see another S in the draft or FA to compete with Conte.

MD Jennings is really bad. He was the worst player on a defense that was pretty bad last year. He literally does nothing well.

And yet, he is almost certainly better than both the dudes who have started for the Bears for the last 3-4 years... some elite units.

At the very least, he's no worse.

Jennings is depth. He's Craig Steltz' replacement. Emery mentioned he's still looking in FA for Safeties. Also mentioned there is much more depth at CB in the draft, than in FA. So unless Tillman is brought back, I suspect CB won't be addressed until the draft. At least not with a starting caliber player.

The worst player on a pretty bad defense could be better than the worst player on a worse defense, which makes him an upgrade.

I think he's comparable to both Conte and Wright. The Packers safeties were almost as bad as the Bears safeties last year. Jennings is really just a special teamer and he would be okay for depth purposes, but he really doesn't have any business being a starter on opening day.

That 148.8 QB rating against Jennings last year in coverage is...not good.

I'd rather keep Palmer as the backup and draft a guy like Savage or Murray.

Heh. We always like the same QBs. I like Savage a lot.

Is Jimmy Garoppolo going to go too high?

Their safeties produced 0 turnovers. No INTs, no forced fumbles. These are not Lovie's Bears anymore.

Yeah, unfortunately. I could see Emery drafting him in the 2nd though. I'd hate it, but I could see it.

I dont have the patience for Emery fouling up more draft picks.

You keep saying this despite the fact that, despite a couple of misses, he hasn't exactly been bad either.

And I was beyond livid about Long.

He's had good and bad. Please stop ignoring that.

Not sure how he can say that with a straight face when he got Alshon [expletive] Jeffery and Long in two drafts so far.

Yes, the next tier of guys needs to be better than it looks right now, but it's hardly embarrassing with those two at the top of the list.

Bucs' Lovie Smith, asked if Josh McCown is his quarterback: "Yes, he is."

Very happy that McCown got a starting gig. Not sure how long it will last, but good for him.
