Jay Cutler show starts now so we'll see what he says.

Really? That's early.

Yeah, they are replaying at 5 as well. Guess he wanted to do it earlier.

If the season ended today, Detroit would win the North and neither the Bears or Packers would make the playoffs while Carolina would be the second wild card. I totally forgot Carolina had a good record.

it's crazy how much their season has turned around since getting rid of Cam & Rivera

Ok...I'll just wait and listen to the podcast in the morning. Any meaningful updates on his injury status?

No he was being very vague. Asked him about the report that he's aiming to come back against Detroit, he said he was aiming to come back from GB and that didn't happen, now he's aiming to get back for Detroit. Doesn't want to come back too early and re-injure himself and miss a month.

Could all be chess games though to keep Lions on their toes

Some of the grades I've seen on PFF:

McCown +5.6

Slauson +5.2 (+4.7 run block - highest grade of his career)

Bushrod +3.5

Marshall +3.3

Forte +3.0

Garza +2.4

Frey +1.9

------------------

Conte -1.2 (-2.7 run)

Paea -1.9

M. Bennett -2.7

McClellen -3.1 (-3.6 run)

Mills -3.5 (-5.1 pass)

Wright -4.3 (-4.7 run)

After another trio of missed tackles last night Major Wright has already surpassed his missed tackle total from last season (10) by three.

Also McCown was the 2nd highest rated QB in week 9, trailing only Brady.

Yeah, I think it'll be McCown this week.

Mills has graded out consistently bad for awhile now hasn't he?

Yeah, but he's a 5th round rookie starting at RT next to another rookie. He has his highs and lows...and overall has been better than I expected. He's showing enough to make me think there's reason to think he'll get a lot better there.

Yes. He's been below average outside of week 1 (and maybe 2, i don't remember). But I can handle a 5th round rookie being below average when the rest of the line has been pretty solid. His below average isn't J'Marcus Webb bad and completely whiffing on blocks. Plus, if there's going to be pressure coming from 1 place, you want it off the right edge of a RH QB.

FWIW, Bears cut Zach Minter to make room for Jay Ratliff. Figured he'd be gone since he didn't dress last night over Christian Tupou. Practice squad candidate.

Jay on why he didn't have a hat on during the game-"Check the wind. Yeah, we can do this."

As for Mills, Raw and Banedon both summed it up. With our offense, he's fine, at that spot. I think he'll be there for a while and think he'll show steady improvement.

conte not getting -1000 against the run severely calls these numbers into question

I'm not subjected to the constant media coverage of the Bears so I have to ask, if McCown has another great game next week will the meatballs in Chicago start shouting for him to keep starting in place of Cutler?

I assume that already started.

I'm sure its already started, but I havent listened to much sports talk today other than 15 minutes of the Jay show.

Picture 2000 Wilson's all screaming in unison, and then suddenly silenced. That was Chicago sports radio today before I turned it off.

Jim Miller was dying to say something about it last night on the postgame.

Nah, I thought Wright was worse but Conte's bad play was just more obvious to see.

I'd take the 3 seed. Miss SF in the 1st round. Then I'd rather go to NO than Seattle. Then I'd imagine a decent shot to host the NFC championship game if SF can get by an inferior Dallas team and win a division playoff game on the road.

what is Sam Bradford's cap hit next year? For some reason, I think he'd thrive in this type of offense. i love Jay, but if the Bears decide to let him go, Bradford might not be a terrible option. We could throw a mid to late rounder at them and buy low.
