Week 9 - MNF: Bears (4-3) @ Green Bay (5-2) - 7:40 PM, ESPN

Matt Flynn is available for the Packers.

Obviously McCown can play. I'm inclined to think about starting him next week. The Lions dline isn't the best medicine for Jay's groin and QB's have a history of reinjuring their groins after trying to rush back.

Yeah I hope Rodgers is okay but the NFL system puts way too much emphasis on winning the division. The only way you can get HFA in the first round is by winning the division and I don't want to go to Seattle or San Francisco.

Way too much?

Greinke broke his non-throwing shoulder collarbone. Had surgery. Supposed to be out 8 weeks, but came back after 4.

he doesn't play football

You got something more similar to a person throwing an object for a living and had a broken collarbone on his non-throwing side?

only if greike was planning on having people charge the mound on him in every single game

Greinke was told 8 weeks. Football players told 9 weeks. Not a huge difference.

so you don't see much of a difference when it comes to collarbone protection between the nfl and mlb? ok.

Kudos to the offensive line yesterday, especially pass blocking. I don't know how it will grade out but to the untrained eye they did a great job of keeping a pocket for McCown to throw. I mean way to step up with your backup out there on the road in primetime, the line needed to step up and it did. Makes things a lot easier.

Yep and McCown has just enough escapability to bail them out when needed too

Regarding the decision to go for it from the 35 yard line in the 4th...

Think teams in that situation -- fourth-and-short, their side of the field, fourth quarter, narrow lead -- have [gone for it] twice in 14 years.

Belichick against Manning only other time I can think of. Didn't work then.

ESPN.com reports: Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers suffered a small fracture in his collarbone that could sideline him about three weeks, a source said.

Initial tests revealed the fracture but the Packers want to conduct more tests before making any determination, the source said.

Packers next 3 games are Minny, Giants, Lions

That's probably 1-2 or 2-1. ESPN said last night that the Packers have the second easiest remaining schedule in the NFL

Sorry, screwed that up. I think their next 3 are Eagles, Minny, Giants

I was happy about the decision to go for it although not so thrilled about the actual play call. Thank god it worked, though. Huge, huge win for the Bears last night. Things seem a little bit better when you have scoreboard over the Packers, especially at Lambeau.

@ Bears

@ Steelers

vs Bucs

vs Packers

@ Eagles

vs Ravens

vs Giants

@ Vikings

That's the Lions remaining schedule.

Yup....they have the easiest remaining schedule.

Luckily the Bears schedule isn't much more difficult, I think its 5th easiest

I was scared to death about going for it and probably would have chickened out myself, but the play call was good. There was no way they were gaining anything up the middle.

All you needed was one link of the chain. I hate handing the ball 4 yards backwards in a situation like that. But what the hell do I know? Trestman called the play and it worked so kudos to him.

I really liked this Gruden quote.

"If there's one irreplaceable quarterback in this league, Aaron Rodgers is one of them."

Everybody involved in the broadcast seemed to misspeak on several occasions, mixing up the Bears and Packers and their respective players. Weirding out about the late penalty and how it "saved a timeout" for GB and other stuff.

Gruden also said Long only played in 5 games at Oregon while a graphic was on the screen showing Long played in 11 games which I thought was funny.

Somewhere erik is crying into a bowl of sausage gravy.

I think it was a pretty rough night in Milwaukee. I was awoken multiple times by sirens in the middle of the night. Heard some screaming in the distance at one point.
