im tired of telling you people that if you just trade for kendrick perkins your problem will solve itself

Listen to this man. Perkins is Ben Wallace his last year in Chicago, minus the rebounding ability.

They're 6-6 right now. Trade Deng and get Marquis Teague into the starting lineup and play him 35 minutes a night and the Bulls won't win 20. And if Thibodeau is against tanking, fire him.

Pretty much any coach would be against tanking.

So bring back Vinny Del Negro or Jim Boylan

Skiles- he'll play Hinrich 45 min a night and Boozer will quit the team.

The Rose (and Westbrook) injuries made me wonder something. Rose tore his meniscus basically walking, and Westbrook knocked knees and that was it. So these guys were timebombs no matter what, right? For everyone that blamed that idiot Beverley and wanted him to die, if it didn't happen then, it would have happened eventually, right?

So can an MRI or some other doctor thing identify a weak knee ligament or meniscus or whatever? I'm guessing not, because otherwise wouldn't teams be putting their players through those as regularly as possible? Like, wouldn't the Bulls have done things differently if they knew Rose was going to come back from the left knee surgery with a weak meniscus in his right knee?

I wonder if this team already feels like they've proven they can grit and grind themselves to respectability and don't have the juice for another run they ultimately know won't get them anywhere. Thibs will push and push and they'll zone out. Thibs and Gar flip out on each other and then Thibs coaches Lebron and Kobe in LA next year oh god

Boozer for Perkins. Someone make the salaries work.

That's what I was trying to say yesterday. Last year they could grit and grind to wins because there was always the "Rose returning" carrot dangling in front of them. By the time it was obvious Rose wasn't coming back they had banded together as a team and fought until they were eliminated.

This year there is no carrot. Rose isn't coming back. The way the Bulls cap position is, this team probably isn't coming back with its core intact. It's deflating and then you have crazy man Thibs yelling at you like its game 7 of the Finals during the first quarter of a January game against the Wizards.

I guess I could see the team improbably banding together again and getting a 6-7 seed but more likely we could see this team completely disinterested, tuning out Thibs, fighting with each other etc.

Depressing either way

At this point this team having the temerity to win a game is more depressing. I do worry about the well being poisoned and losing Thibs though

Nice.

I made a couple work too, but my favorite is Deng for Austin Rivers and Tyreke Evans.

Really? Evans isn't anything special and owed ~$32 million over the next 3 years and Rivers is a fringe player who probably should be the the D League and was one of, if not the worst, players in the league last year.

We're in a battle with Utah. This is 1998 all over again.

Damn, did they blow another big lead?

You aren't going to get anything "special" back for a half-season of Lou, and the numbers have to work. Evans has scored quite a bit, had an 18-plus PER last season, and is only 24. Rivers is only 21 and in his second year, so he's worth a roll of the dice. He has enough range to be a solid 3-point threat if he develops.

Yeah, I think I'd just rather get picks and/or a good-decent young player on a cheaper deal. Here's a crazy trade I just did because I'm currently in a trade machine rabbit hole (this is operating off the assumption the Bucks owner truly is going to try and get the 8 seed or better at all costs).

Bulls get: Larry Sanders, Perkins, Sefolosha (expiring), Ekpe Udoh (expiring)

Bucks get: Deng, Collison, Perry Jones, Steve Adams

Thunder get: Noah, Caron Butler, Gary Neal

Bucks lineup moving forward: Knight, Mayo, Deng, Ilyasova, Henson/Pachulia

Bulls lineup: Hinrich, Butler, Sefolosha, Boozer, Sanders

Thunder lineup: Russ, Neal/Butler/Lamb, Durant, Ibaka, Noah

I think I would want a little more than just Larry Sanders for Noah and Deng.

Holy [expletive]; he's going to die.

To be fair, that definitely wasn't continuation. Horrible call.

At 6-7, the Bulls have the #6 seed in the East.

With a .400 winning %, the 76ers would make the playoffs if the season ended today.

I thought it was an excellent call. Also thanks to the refs for fouling Noah out of the game.

Do we get the rights to his TV show too?
