exactly my response when i heard the news. Parker, while not as good as his ERA indicated in 2013, was actually pretty decent. Amazing that Grimm and Schlitter made the team over him.

The FO just might be broken when it comes to actually signing anyone of consequence. Pretty sure Soler is going end up abducted by aliens or something.

Is Grimm pretty much a bullpen guy going forward? Or do you see the Cubs moving him back to a starter? Does he have the "stuff" to get back in the rotation?

He thinks he'll get another shot as a starter at some point. He.could take Shark's route, I guess.

 

That said, his FB amps up quite a bit in short stints(fairly normal) and he's got a plus curve. His change is what will dictate his future. If its on(not that often) it's above average to plus. Which gives him a mid rotation ceiling as a starter. But, needing only 2 pitches coming out of the pen, seems to fit him very well. As he's got back end of the pen type stuff.

He should definitely be given a chance as a starter.
