Wait I thought Hendricks had been sent down to the AZL briefly to prep for AAA. Did I imagine that?

Arguello mentioned that Daytona has had 18 rainouts this year, after 16 last year. His silver lining was they had 15 combined in 2010 and 2011.

According to the Iowa Cubs website, Hendricks is due to make his first AAA start on Thursday against Fresno.

Yeah - I just went with what MiLB.com had. It looks like Iowa has updated but Tennessee still hasn't updated ther web site.

And just to twist the knife, forecasts say no rain at game time tonight in Daytona, FL. Of course, the D-Cubs have the night off. Three consecutive games have been cancelled due to rain prior to tonight's scheduled day off.

More like 6 consecutive games because I believe at least 2 of those days were double headers.

I think that was just a procedural move to stash him on the AZL roster for some reason. I don't think he ever actually went down to Arizona.

Jokisch off the DL tonight to start. Rhoderick released. Kinda surprised about the latter.

I'm not. He hasn't been good since parts of 2011.

It was five games cancelled, a single game and two doubleheaders, but both of those doubleheaders were the rained out games from the night before so it was really just three games that didn't get played. Still, ouch.

Updated forecast shows 0% chance of rain tonight until 9pm in Daytona. That's right, 0%

Carrie Muskat[/url]"]Albert Almora is sidelined with a slight groin strain. It will likely be a few days before he’s back in Kane County’s lineup

I'm not. He hasn't been good since parts of 2011.

Up until this year, he's shown ability to miss bats. When talking about relievers, thats what i care about. Just looking at the TN roster I can find at least 2 other pitchers i think should have been cut loose before Rhoderick.

Again, not saying he was a great prospect. He walked WAY too many. Just think he wasn't the lowest hanging fruit that deserved to be whacked if there was a roster crunch.

Almora to DL:

@BruceMiles2112: #Cubs outright Julio Borbon to Iowa; At @KCCougars Albert Almora on DL with slight groin strain. Cubs hopeful he misses about a week.

I can't remember where I read it, but one of those insider-ish dudes somewhere on the internet said the Cubs promoted Baez in part to try to get him to a level where his talent couldn't overcome his flaws. I'm beginning to wonder if such a level exists.
