valbuena is 5th among NL third basemen in WAR and vitters has barely played all season. what a weird rant.

Yeah, blocking Vitters isn't a thing.

valbuena's OPS will be under .700 by the end of the year. i'd just like to see a former prospect see if he can turn it around, there's absolutely no harm in giving him time instead of cody [expletive] ransom.

Valbuena is a former prospect, too.

He was only a prospect because the stupid previous regime stupidly drafted him. Let's see if he can see the AAA field without pulling his Stewart before we worry about getting him more big league time.

but he actually developed as he hit the upper levels of the minors. his ranking as a prospect went down as his numbers went up. hard to figure.

and yeah, nobody liked it when they drafted him, but it's not like he wouldn't have been drafted and been a prospect with another team.

But he could have been somebody else's non-prospect prospect not getting blocked while not playing in AAA.

we need any and all prospects to develop. I could care less who drafted them, we just need as much value as possible. It seems like some rejoice simply in being able to point out the old regimes failures.

Why is this even being brought up? He's been hurt most of the year and can't play.

And Valbuena is much better than him.

Nobody is rejoicing over the fact that Brett Jackson and Josh Vitters have had their stock plummet.

No kidding; neely is really good at making things up. Why the [expletive] would anyone WANT Jackson and Vitters to fail?

Also it seems a little strange to crap on Ransom when he's more than fulfilled his role on the short side of a platoon. Factor in his 1.000+ OPS versus lefties and third base has been a pleasant surprise this season. Valbuena had a terrible June but he's off to a good start in July.

I'm not sure you can predict him to have a .700 OPS by the end of the season when (so far) he's been above .800 three out of four months. And even if I'm wrong Vitters couldn't sniff .700.
