Is Bolland a "Tallon" guy? I'm sure you could dump him there.

Haha I think he's done enough making amends for the Huet deal.

But really a guy like Bolland will draw interest. Especially for teams needing to reach the floor.

I don't mind trading Bolland but geez lets at least get through the parade before we start discussing trading the player who scored the Cup winning goal.

OK, ok I guess with the draft coming up right away because of the shortened offseason, this makes sense.

I'd like to wait as well but it's a truncated offseason and they really don't have a choice. But it's not like they were the ones putting it out there, it was a report from other teams in the league.

I'd rather talk about a Blackhawks offseason(possible filled with bad news) than 2013 Chicago Cubs baseball.

I don't think theres much in terms of 'bad news' with the Blackhawks offseason. We'll lose Stalberg, might lose Bickell, but we should have cap room with the guys leaving to do a few small moves.

I'm excited to see the development from Saad.

Bickell is saying he will take hometown discount. Loves Chicago. Wants to play hockey with his friends in the winter, go fishing in the summer.

i'd prefer we just keep bolland for his last year. it's not exactly like we're stacked with centers

They aren't stacked with good centers, but they are stacked with centers who can play well on the third line for much less than $3.4 mil per year.

In this league, where you don't have 6 years to exploit a young player's cheapness like MLB, and where guys can become free agents relatively early, the Blackhawks have a bigger need to maintain the pipeline of younger talent than holding onto overpaid 3rd line centers.

Bolland was absolute trash all year until he scored 1 lucky goal with 58 seconds left. If Frolik's redirect went in, no one would even think about Bolland. He was outstanding in 2010 playoffs and the 2011 season. Was actually OK last year, but complete garbage this year. Not that +/- is everything, but he was a -7 in the regular season on a team that lost 7 games. That's hard to do.

at this point, Bolland is a nice luxury player to have in the playoffs. but not much more than that. back after the 2010 playoffs, i thought he was destined for greatness. he's a good 4th line center, but eminently replaceable.

Full preseason schedule isn't out yet but the longest we will have to wait for more Blackhawks hockey is 81 days:

"The Blackhawks will host the Detroit Red Wings on Sept. 17, according to the Red Wings, who released their preseason schedule today. The Wings will host Chicago on Sept. 22. As for the Pittsburgh Penguins, who also released their preseason docket today, the Blackhawks will host them on Sept. 19 and play in Pittsburgh on Sept. 23."

They won t just give Bolland away. I'd guess a 2nd or 3rd round pick. They might also package him to either move up in the draft or get some other piece.

I wonder if the hawks would consider trading seabrook. He was pretty off and on this season.

i'd be less surprised if a gm overpays for bolland than if we get something less than a 3rd rounder. he seemed to snap out of his post-concussion terribleness at some point during the detroit series. he was noticeably good from that point on

as for seabs, i guess nothing is ever really off of the table, but i just don't see it. duncan keith kind of sucked for two whole seasons and nothing happened there. i can't imagine a season of suck, especially when that season was shortened, would be used as the impetus for a trade. plus he occasionally showed up during the playoffs. he's too important to what the hawks try to do on the ice to give up for salary cap relief, as bad as he was last year

Ridiculous rumors...lol...

I heard this morning from a very solid source that the Sabres have inquired about a blockbuster deal for Patrick Kane. Will it happen? Likely not in this century. But as I always say, conversations do happen.

Two sources have confirmed that the Hawks have had discussions about bringing Vinny LeCavalier in on a 1-year deal. It is at best a longshot for a variety of obvious reasons.

Less ridiculous rumors...

Look for Viktor Stalberg to get a big money free agent offer from the Detroit Red Wings.

Lots of interest in Dave Bolland in both conferences. The Calgary Flames, I'm told by a source out of Canada, are strongly in the hunt. Montreal, Edmonton, Florida and Toronto also possibilities.

That one could happen before the draft starts.

All info from hockeybuzz.com, no idea how reputable that site is.

I was just about to say I'd hate to see Stalberg stay in the division. Nevermind.

As for Bolland, yeah wouldn't surprise me to see him moved today.

And Buffalo has absolutely nothing at this point that would get them Kane. Nothing.

When's the draft?

The hockey draft was the only one I never got into amongst the four major sports - probably because I never saw any of the draft prospects beforehand.
