fundamentally, if you had Cuddyer at 2B from the time he was eligible there until today, the software would actually tell you let you do so. Moreover, it would actually TELL you on your roster page that he's still eligible there.

damn, too bad my predecessor foolishly made the mistake of moving Braun off 3B once upon a time

i could have been all "oh, what...he's an outfielder now??"

Moreland injured his hammy last night and will have an MRI today. Added Pena to replace him. Hopefully he has a 10+ day, no-DL hammy injury so he can be Pagan's twin in that regard.

Alonso finally to the DL, so I can pick up another 1B, so I picked up LaRoche.

Question: can I insert him right away, or do I need to wait for the week (I have fill-ins right now)?

you can insert him.

I moved Rendon to 3b and Moustakas to the trash can. Rendon played the number of games at 3b in the minors to be eligible there so my interpretation is that is ok.

yeah, you can't just bench someone mid-week because they suck.

Rendon was called up - doesn't that qualify? No?

I know it used to qualify

So this is an exception to the lineup rule too? Boy it'd be awesome if there were a place that had all the rules so everyone in the league had least had a chance to know them all.

don't blame me, i've made it clear i want a lineup-alooza where you can do whatever the hell you want mid-week. it is clearly the best solution.

you know how many arguments/debates/disagreements/exceptions we'd have if there were no mid-week lineup rules? zero. literally zero. sure tim would gain a slight advantage by swapping 18 guys in and out of his lineup every week to get 7 more at bats than his opponent, but who cares.

yea, I agree. Honestly, there aren't any good hitters out there to swap out anyway.

I'd be fine with a daily league (obviously).

Well this is a pretty obvious one. You can replace a player if there is someone new (either through trade or a call-up) to take his place. He couldn't just move Rendon into that spot if Rendon had been called up a month ago.

Obvious how? The rule lists several reasons that you can make a lineup change - all of which concern things happening to players already in your lineup. This is not listed among those exceptions.

Now that it won't change their matchup, I'll point out that this rule is so obvious that Quakers, who has puig and who made roster moves for other reasons this week, didn't realize he could take advantage of puig's 30+ performance. It's hard to take Seth Smith out of the lineup, I suppose.

It'd be really helpful if all the rules were accurate and complete and in the same location so everyone knew them.
