Yes. It was fairly obvious to the naked eye, even more obvious on replay, and downright clear as a bell when you add the field audio in.

This guy Toby Basner is brand new on the MLB umpire roster. He's subbing on this crew for Sam Holbrook who's taking some time off. What's interesting here is that Basner wasn't here yesterday, it was David Rackley yesterday subbing for Holbrook. I wouldn't even be mildly surprised if Basner is not back here tomorrow. We'll see.

I literally can't imagine anything that anyone would offer within the realm of realism that would be worth more to us than 2.5 cost-controlled years of Jeff Samardzija.

 

I mean yeah, if we get like a Bryce Harper, sure. But there's no pile of prospects that I'd want for him.

Hmmm, the NL kind sucks. If the Reds, Pirates, or Cardinals calm down a bit we might have a shot at a Wild Card.

Yeah, there is nothing that is realistic. However yesterday's idea of a package headlined by Taillon and Gerrit Cole would at least have me listen to what they have to say.
