"Go Cubs Go" needs to be dropped since the "catch the games on WGN" whatever the [expletive] lyric will thankfully be completely wrong very soon.

Radio still works, ya hater.

I actually enjoy "Go Cubs Go" in a really dorky way, and am indifferent to the stretch now that Drinky McSlobaslot is long gone. That WGN line just stabs at my soul.

Just keep it to legit Cubs fans/Chicago folks and not people showing up to promote their new movie and putting a Cubs hat on.

The crowd likes it and it doesn't hurt anyone.

It's a song they sing after winning games, so I'm not sure why people hate it so much.

It's a really cheesy song, so I guess it's that. It's just always been there for me; 1984 was the first year I was a fan and it was a semi-big deal then, plus my parents bought me the damn thing and being a little kid I played it until everyone's ears bled. It's burned into my brain whether I like it or not.

Exactly. It's pure cheese, but I love it.

It also annoys opposing fans, which is an added bonus.

Because people get angry that everyone's not raging about the bad team even after they win.

The best part of "Go Cubs Go" is getting to watch middle aged white people dance along.

It was a thing in 1984?! I don't think that's right

It was written in '84 and used most of that season.

It was played on the radio when I was a kid, and then came back as a thing after the games more recently. I don't have any memory of it being played at the games back then, but I rarely went as a kid.

It was basically just that year, largely because Steve Goodman died then, too. It then mostly went away for the most part until the 2000's.

I'm so jealous of the Red Sox and "Sweet Caroline"

This is sarcasm, right?

Not at all. how great is it to join in chorus with the greatest singer/songwriter of the 20th century.

I went to 2 of the Cubs games at Fenway a couple years ago and I have to admit that "Sweet Caroline" was a fun moment. But I preferred hearing the drunken Sox fans singing "Oh baby Youk, you got what I neeeeeeeeeeed" to Biz Markie when Youkilis would come to the plate.

That song is both creepy and terrible.
