Seems like Kings fans just thought it shouldve been a penalty, but don't necessarily think a suspension is called for.

i think if he would've been called for the penalty, he wouldn't be suspended. he'll get a game.

Wait, just realized that Game 2 is tonight! Is this the first time they've had back-to-backs for any playoff series?

The Hawks? Yeah this is the first although in the first round Games 6 and 7 were scheduled for back to back nights but we never got that far. I believe the ECF has a back to back scheduled somewhere in the series as well. In this case the back to back was scheduled because the Stones played the UC on Friday and have another concert on Monday.

while i expect the kings to be more physical tonight, i don't think that sort of thing takes the hawks out of their game much. i say that based on games against other physical teams during the season. more physical or not, i do believe we'll see a better kings performance tonight. hopefully quick makes some mistakes or ties his skates too tight and his foot falls asleep or something

Strader you idiot the anthem tradition did not start in 1991.

It was spontaneous, apparently, but it was a playoff series in the 1980s. 1985 I think.

Chicago's anthem tradition began during the 1985 conference finals against Edmonton. After dropping the first two games of the series on the road, Hawks fans entered Chicago Stadium on May 9 fully energized and ready to help their team get back into the series. The crowd was so excited they cheered all the way through the National Anthem — and the tradition stuck.

"When I introduced the anthem, fans just started clapping and cheering," said Harvey Wittenberg, the Blackhawks' public-address announcer from 1961-2001. "That was the start of the phenomenon."
