I will readily admit I was wrong. I didn't see anything games 2-4 that led me to believe the Hawks would make this comeback. Happy to be wrong.

Couldn't be more fitting, officials disallow the second legit goal of the series for the Hawks and the winner is deflected of that dirty POS Kronwall.

I dunno...the Hawks played quite well in Game 4 and in big stretches of Game 3, so it didn't take me by complete surprise. I mean its always a bit of a surprise when a team comes back from down 3-1, but it was a more talented team with home ice advantage that came back.

NHL network showed the Hawks bench reaction to the disallowed goal. Toews went all Hulk Smash and beat his stick on the ice.

Tazer has showed a surprising amount of emotion this series. Didn't know he had it in him. Just goes to show how frustrated he's been. I bet he's relieved to be moving on to play team that doesn't have a Zetterberg on its roster.

I can't get over Eddie O, Doc, or Pierre not mentioning that Saad was somehow called for a penalty on that disallowed goal.

Perhaps, its just me but, they were all pumping hard for the Wings, couldn't believe Eddie O' commentary in favor of the Wings throughout the whole series.

Probably trying extra to let everyone know he's trying to be neutral. It an go the other way easily.

According to a Wings board, Eddie O was saying that it was a good call immediately after the no-goal happened. But in OT he changed his tune and was saying it was a bad call.

I think its a matter of him overly favoring the other team so that he's not seen as a Hawks homer

I saw that as well, it wasn't as if the Hawks weren't being significantly out played, Howard was good but, he had a [expletive] of luck as well. The disallowed goal, the Hawks hitting a post after cleanly beating Howard on at least 4 occasions, the signals were there that a turn around could happen.

Hah, a friend who is a Red Wings fan posted this on Facebook after the no-goal but before the winner:

Finally, vindication from the Calvin Johnson no TD catch against the Bears. #NeverForget #NoGoal

Edit: BTW, I'll take it given how that particular Bears game ended

Wings had a great plan and executed it well, no question. On talent alone I feel this should have been a 5 game series.

My takeaway is: expect the Kings to try to slug it out, big time. They're going to hit, and hit hard, try to frustrate the Hawks and knock them all over the ice.

I agree. I don't really want to post this in the post victory afterglow, but i don't like our odds that much in this series. Especially hate that Games 1 and 2 are back to back, which I feel like increases the chances that the Kings steal at least 1 of the 2 games at the UC.

BTW, the NHL has to be thrilled to have 2 really good matchups for their conference finals. In the west you have the 2nd and 3rd largest markets playing and last years champs vs. this years best team, and in the East you have 2 hockey mad cities and 2 high profile teams with stars on both sides.

Better back to back at home than on the road like the Kings are facing.

Pretty obvious Eddie O has been trying to avoid being called a homer. There is no question that he wants the Hawks to win.

I look for Toews, Kane and Hossa to have a better series than this one, while Kings are going to come out slugging, there's way to deal with that and take advantage of an over aggressive team.

Wow what a bad call. I recorded the game and immediately in a fit of rage fast forwarded to the game winner. It wasnt even fun because that no goal was complete BS.

Thank god we won. I hope we can survive the smashing that the Kings will lay on us.

oh, and there's nothing in sports that rivals an OT game 7 in the stanley cup playoffs
