If the Spurs somehow win the championship, it will just prove how pathetically weak the NBA is compared to how it used to be.

They last won 5 years ago when all their geriatric stars were 5 years younger and better. So winning now would be a joke.

I sure hope they win though. I won't be able to stand the inevitable Miami is one of the greatest teams ever crap and LeBron is the best player ever talk.

Average age of guys getting more than 20 MPG = 29.125, a full 3 years younger than the Bulls of 97-98 and younger than titles 4-6 for the Bulls.

Still flopping all over the place like a beotch too. It's really sad they have to resort to that.

Wade and Manu in a Finals together might create a flopping critical mass that produces anti-matter.

that's not how antimatter is made you fool

I think to get 5-6 rings, Lebron is going to have to go elsewhere and form another super team. Indy had the blue print to beat them mapped out with their size...if Paul George doesn't dissapear, they just might have pulled it out...good game aside, Wade looks to be deteriorating fast too.

My point is the Spurs are at least 5 years past their prime and they are in the finals. Their 3 best players are old and in decline. And they are in the finals despite not having been a championship caliber team in recent years, when they were a younger team. So this supports my contention that this is a weak year in the NBA.

The Bulls are a terrible comparison. Because through the 97-98 season, they won every championship for the 6 years when Michael Jordan was on the team for the whole year. So even if the 97-98 Bulls were in decline, and they clearly were, the prior teams won championships too.

And their best player was Michael Jordan. Please stop hating on MJ like that by comparing him to Duncan, Parker and Ginobili. LeBron comparisons are bad enough.

I agree. Wade is in decline and Bosh isn't a great fit. Unless he moves, I question this team winning multiple championships. And they have absolutely no flexibility with the cap.

How do you write those 2 thoughts consecutively?

Somebody better tell Pops to stop playing Leonard and Green so much.

They had the best record in the NBA last year. They were one game off from the best record in the NBA in '11. They've been a 3 seed or better every year but one since their title.

I move that your contention stinks and is ugly.

K, did that make them younger? How could they have been in decline they kept winning championships in the hardest era any professional sport has ever seen.

Did I say anything about comparing Jordan to a Spur?(Even the ANCIENT 30 year old Tony Parker)

Tony Parker sure ain't in much of a decline yet. This year he had his second highest scoring average, second highest assist average (second only be a tenth of an assist), second highest field goal percentage, third highest 3-point percentage, and highest free throw percentage.

That just shows how bad the NBA is these days.

Maybe one of you stat nerds can help me out with this

I was playing around with this link (http://espn.go.com/nba/hollinger/teamstats) and was comparing this most recent season with the 2003-2004 season.

Am I missing something or would the team ranked last in offensive efficiency in the 12-13 season have been ranked first in offensive efficiency in the 03-04 season and the team ranked first in defensive efficency in the 12-13 season have been ranked last in defensive efficiency in the 03-04 season?

That is unbelievable if true.

Whatever. If you're trying to claim that the Spurs are better now than they were 5 years ago when Duncan and Ginobili were in their prime because 31 year old tony Parker had a better statistical year than 26 year old Tony Parker I can't argue with you. OKC and the Bulls were down 2 all stars from where they entered the playoff last year. Even Indy was down an Allstar and they took Miami to 7.

2013 is a down year for the NBA. Lets face it.

I'll take "Invented Arguments" for $1000, Alex.
