Any reason we couldn't have just left Navarro in in place of Castillo? Backup catcher's used either way.

Who would you PH there? DeJesus maybe, but Wellington's still been swinging it well.

Too bad Soriano had to hit it right at someone (and then get a bad bounce to the short stop on top of that), otherwise we'd be tied. We've had some bad luck to start the year it seems.

2. Seriously, if the Cubs could just be MLB average or a bit below average with RISP, they'd be so much flipping better.

That is hard to do when the guys getting on base are in the middle of the order and the guys hitting with RISP are the worst bottom of the order in baseball.

Sorry, but watching that thing live I never thought for a second they'd actually get him out. Until they actually did.

He needs to beat that out.

He probably did

ETA: And what a ludicrous thing to say. "He needs to beat that out." "He needs to get a hit there." "He needs to get that batter out."

Oh let me just put my magic needs to hat on, and do that for you.

Maybe, but he hit the [expletive] out of the ball right at someone which is the basis of what I was referring to.

I'm quite certain that everybody been at fault at one time or another in that department. You aren't ranked last in the MLB or near it because your bottom two guys are always screwing up. In addition, it's not like the middle of our order are gang busters when it comes to OBP.

Say it however you want to say it. Soriano is fast enough that the play shouldn't have been close, even with one or two bad hips. For whatever reason, that wasn't the case.

Well, if the bottom of your order never gets on base, that limits the RISP opportunities for the top of the order, so having a pathetic 7-9 can really skew a RISP stat.

Yeah he probably didn't try.
