Does me not thinking about the Royals playing in an NL park this week qualify as an injury so I can sit one of Hosmer or Butler?

I don't think you can bench yourself due to an injury.

My team would really benefit, though.

Cespedes resting his sore elbow today (so much for that goal of being healthier this year). So I replaced him with Parra in my futile attempt at a comeback. He's hoping Cincy & Washington put up 10 runs each in the first inning.

Am I missing something or are we allowed to freely add/drop RPs?

No you cannot. Only injured players and starters. Who is switching RP's?

I don't think it'll matter for the W-L outcome this week, but Rodelo has 8 starts against the Dealers. It could factor in a points tiebreaker though.

If Raw lives up to his hype, Rodelo should have his best start taken away.

Change goes into effect tomorrow, for next week.

So we can pick up FA RPs and hitters any time on Sunday?

I guess I still don't fully understand the add/drop rules. It's sort of whacky that a team benefits if a player gets hurt and they get to add a guy during the week. So if there's a hot player, I have to hope one of my guys goes on the DL so I can add the hot FA before Sunday or else someone else will get to pick him up.

I also thought there was a waiver process that kicked in for all non-SPs and that's when you had to add those FAs. But it seems like as long as you add them after games start on Sunday, so it takes effect Monday, then that's ok? Maybe I'm just confused.

Yeah, if a guy sits out b/c he's hurt (or is going to), then you can replace him with another player. I didn't think you could add a FA to replace a hurt player unless the guy goes on the DL. But Adam picked up Lowrie to replace Simmons, so maybe you can.

yes, you can do that.

as far as the RPs go...you can pick up whoever you want, whenever you want. you just can't make non-SP lineup changes mid-week. if there's a hot FA you want you would have to drop one of your guys on the bench (or a SP) to get him.

you can pick up RP and hitters whenever you want. just can't make mid-week lineup changes barring injury/demotion/suspension.

Should not matter on the outcome but yes could have an impact later...on the gameday chat I mentioned it ...got screwed up after the trade with Adam...I thought I made the adjustments to negate the 8th start...sorry about that.

i suppose that's one way to look at it.

really, the only mid-week limitation I can think of is not changing RP or hitters mid-week (barring injury, etc). so yeah you couldn't pick up a hot FA by dropping a starting hitter.

as far as picking up a FA to replace an injured(but not DL'ed) hitter...if your catcher gets dinged up on tuesday it would really suck to have to play without a catcher all week just because you didn't happen to have a catcher on your bench.

Well if BJ Upton starts the week 0/16 with like a million ks that sucks too.

yeah but he's still playing and thus still capable of scoring points (in theory).

the point of not allowing mid week substitutions isn't to make one team play short handed all week because of injury.

What is the point?

to make it so the person who most obsessively changes their lineup every day to take advantage of mlb off days doesn't win just because they invest the most time.

for the record, my vote was to allow whatever subs/adds/drops you wanted to make, but people wanted to keep this a "weekly" league instead of a "daily" league. as i've said 1,000 times before, just allowing us to make whatever subs we wanted at any time would be a hell of a lot simpler.
