Is tomorrow the first local broadcast of the year?

Anyone know if its Cubs or Sox announcers?

According to Yellon, Javy just went 430.

Is there anywhere to follow that game? The only one I see on mlb.com is the one I'm going to delete from my dvr without watching it.

Not that I'm aware of. But Yellon and Arguello aren't there, yet they're keeping up with it somehow.

Javy doing whatever the [expletive] he wants again. [expletive] it, bring him up NOW. Just kidding. (kind of)

Most exciting prospect since Corey Patterson, and I would hope the comparison reminds us of why patience is key here.

I think Baez is a better prospect honestly. I also would have faith that Sveum and the FO would handle things quite a bit differently, if he were in the majors than that regime. That said, my honest hopes have gone from a late season callup in 2014, to potentially starting 2014 in the majors. No chance of a callup this year, even if he mashes AA at some point.

At the same age and stage in their development? Patterson was a much better prospect.

Patterson had everything Baez has, plus speed and defense.

I'm a little fuzzy, but I don't remember CP having Javy's power or hit tool. Plus, the reports on Javy's D are just getting better and better.

Oh sweet Jesus.......Javy told Castillo(batting behind him) "you're not getting to hit" prior to the walk off.

Rename us the Chicago Javys.

This, however, we agree on.

He definitely had the power projection. Both of them have the same problem with hit tool: It's not going to matter if they get fooled by breaking pitches.

Baez has good defensive reports. Patterson was expected to be an elite defender at a premium position.

OH HELL YES

Finally we may have our own dickish offensive prodigy to bring up. WANT

See, I've heard some say Javy's hit tool could be Vlad-like. Lots of hits, just not a great OBP. At any rate, its encouraging he's seeing pitches currently. CP may have been as good or better, as I said, I really don't remember it THAT well.(certainly wasn't following minors nearly as close back then) but definitely think this regime handles Javy mhch better than prior one did with CP.

Age 19 season

Baez: 21.5% K rate across A and A+

Patterson: 16.7% at A

Vlad: 11.8% at rookie ball (9.7% at A the next season).

Baez definitely does not have Vlad's hit tool. And Patterson's was a little ahead at the same age.

I think they'll handle him better too, which is why unless he does way better than I expect this season, this rushing-him-to-the-majors talk is silly.

Like I mentioned, I was kidding. But part of me does wonder how he'd do obviously. If this was the previous regime though, I honestly think there would be serious talk of him coming north right now. Definitely think he'd start in AA and up midseason, if he was remotely holding his own.

Yeah, thats all I'm actually getting at. Having a great dickish type would be phenomenal.

I think if he were in the majors for a full season and played every day, he'd hit 25 HRs, commit 40-50 errors and strike out 250+.
