BREAKING NEWS:

@JonHeymanCBS: long way to go 'til june, but rhp tyler kolek & lhp brady aiken have joined lhp carlos rodon as candidates for top pick

You have to remember that the average person who would follow heyman on twitter probably isn't very tuned in to the draft. So this could be breaking news for many people. Which is fine.

Aww man, let me have my fun.

I'll allow it.

@KendallRogersPG: Ugly situation here in College Station. #TAMU SS Logan Taylor had his knee buckle on a Nola pitch and hit the ground in pain. Out of game.

@kileymcd: Per @KendallRogersPG, LSU righty Aaron Nola's curve just buckled a Texas A&M batter's knees so bad he's now down with a knee injury.

@CrawfordChrisV: Rodon done. 6.2 IP, 5 H, 0 ER, 2 BB, 8 K's, 107 pitches.

@Clint_BA: Rodon's night done. 6.2 IP, 5 H, 2 BB, 8 Ks. 107 pitches unofficially. Was 92-94, 95 in 7th vs Coastal Carolina.

@CJNitkowski: Aaron Nola's (LSU) night us over. 8.1, 4H, 1R, 7K, 3BB. Leaves 2 runners on. Sinker, slider guy. Ceiling #3 for me, needs a better 3rd pitch

Only 107? It's like a side session for Rodon.

Heh, Keith Law made that joke too.

Apparently North Carolina State was up 10.

This may be a dumb question, but is it a concern he's using so many pitches to get college hitters out? It would seem to me he would be a bit more efficient if he's as good as advertised.

This is my concern with Beede, but not at all with Rodon. Rodon seems to go 7IP or more most outings while Beede seems to not go past 6 very often.

I asked Chris Crawford on Twitter this:

If Rodon, Kolek and Aiken go top 3, who would you take at 4? Klaw suggested Fedde or Gordon w/ Hoffman's arm woes.

He responded:

@CrawfordChrisV: @RaisinMan101 That's a smart man. If Hoffman is healthy he's the guy, but, if not? Gordon or Jackson.

Jackson because he's consistently been rated better by the various draft media folk (which is all we have to go on with these HS kids).

I think I missed this earlier but Callis and Mayo both did a mock top 10: http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article/mlb/mlbpipelines-first-year-player-draft-experts-update-top-10-draft-projections?ymd=20140430&content_id=73746266&vkey=news_mlb

Callis:

1. Aiken

2. Rodon

3. Kolek

Mayo:

1. Rodon

2. Kolek

3. Hoffman

4. Cubs

Callis: Hoffman -- Before he missed his start last weekend with minor arm soreness, Hoffman was pushing past Rodon. If healthy, he'd be a nice fit for Chicago.

Mayo: Aiken -- Could very easily go in the top three, and I can't see him going any later than this.

what is the timeline for knowing if Hoffman is healthy or not?

The plan as of last week (which was also the plan when he first went on the shelf) was that he'd pitch this weekend.

@kileymcd: I'm lining up my board & there's a tiny difference from #5 to #23: #5 could be 6 or 7 diff players. There's gonna be tons of underslot deals
