4 straight 1 goal wins

will you please [expletive] off

huh? you don't like winning close games? I think that ish is a big sign of a team that can win in the playoffs

Was at the game tonight. They were noticebaly slower in the 3rd Period. I think all the games played with little rest and the PP's they killed off during the first two periods took their toll.

That said, they could have easily had three goals going into the 3rd, as Hossa missed the net twice and Howard made a few great saves. Craw looked sharp again, but for the love of God he needs to stop trying to make slick plays with the puck behind the net.

Ultimately, even on slow(er) nights these guys are just so talented that most teams won't be able to hang. Their puck movement on the first two PP's was awesome, and when they aren't gased they make people look really bad in the neutral zone and with their forecheck. They probably aren't as talented as the 2010 team (who is?), but if the 3rd line becomes consistent (they kind of sucked tonight), the Oduya-Hammer pairing continues to play well, and Craw is solid, there's no reason to think they can't win another Cup.

So far, Hjammer is like a different player than last year's version. He's hanging on to the puck longer/ making better decisions. Even before the GWG last night I've really liked what I've seen from Leddy. In a starnge way, Montador not recovering from his concussion may have saved the Hawks from making what might have been a really bad trade. Many people, myself included, have bandied about trade proposals involving these 2 guys. I shudder to think where the Hawks would be if they had to rotate Olsen, Brookbank and Rozsival with 2 of them starting every night.

Yeah and along those lines, I'll take an early season mea culpa on Oduya. He's been very solid. That said, the game isn't all that physical right now. I'm still concerned that come April and May he's going to get pushed around in his own zone again, but can't worry about that now.

Also, Crawford was named the league's second star of the week, behind only Marleau. Surprised, but he has played well.

Looking at the schedule, yeah, this road trip is going to suck, but after it is over, the Hawks go from February 12th to March 8th with all home games except 1 game in STL and 1 game in DET. Good times!

Will the suspension be over when the Hawks go to Phoenix?

I'm pretty sure it is. The suspension ended up being 21 games including the last 3 games of the Hawks series, the other 2 rounds the Coyotes played in last year and 10-12 games this year before we play them

If they were smart, they'd make hima healthy scratch at the last moment so the Hawks would have played Bollig for no reason.

Craw getting the start tomorrow

That works, if he plays well again tomorrow they should start him Friday at Vancouver and then get Emery in Saturday night at Calgary.

i'd only start emery on back to backs. gotta go hard with crawford and see where he stands.

i don't want torres, i want doan, an eye for an eye.

That would make Toews a target though. I'd rather just have Bollig, then Mayers exact whatever justice they can.

The thing with Doan is that he can also be dirty player, despite his reputation. And laying out a team's best player has always put a target on the other team's stars. So I can see how that makes sense from both those perspectives. But, to me, I would also ignore Doan and just focus on Torres. The guy doesn't respect the game, and he doesn't respect other players. If you want to send a message, and I'm sure the Hawks do, you win the game and clobber the hell out of Torres at every opportunity. First time he's on the ice, lay him out and/or make him drop the gloves.
