Week 15 Green Bay @ Lovie's Chokers (No GB Fans Allowed)

Posted

If you suck, and I don't just mean make a mistake here and there. But if you suck from top to bottom like the Bears offense did yesterday, you deserve to get booed.

I know people disagree on that, especially in St. Louis where it's pretty much forbidden.

And even if you're anti-booing, you should still agree that the only thing that makes it worse is players complaining about booing after playing like a steaming pile of [expletive] against your huge rival with the season on the line.

I think this makes me a meathead or a meatball or both. Whatever.

Carimi got benched at RG, meaning the Bears played 4 different OGs today.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought Carimi moved from RG back to RT when Scott got hurt right before halftime, I think it was. He didn't get benched.

He had been benched in favor of Spencer prior to having to come back out to replace Scott.

The Oline is a total mess.

Ah, OK. I missed that.

That was so badass. That gif didn't even capture Devin Hester not actually shying from contact and making the final block. I was at the same so I didnt get the reaction on NSBB, but I'm assuming most felt really good at that point. Then the Packers scored TDs on 3 out of 4 possessions, as the Bears ran, I believe 5 offensive plays in between (3 and out, INT on first down, then that one dumbfounding 10 yard pass to end the half). Definitely where the game was lost, along with not getting 7's after the Jeffery drawn DEFENSIVE (sorry had to emphasise so as to not confuse with the others against him) pass interference and the hilariously dumbfounding special teams turnover.

The shitty thing is that, yes I know there was some shady officiating going on, but we had a good deal of breaks go our way and still lost by 8. 2 missed field goals, the lost confidence in the kicker that caused the packers to go for it on 4th in 2 situations where they probably get 3 points (of course you have to stop them), the pass interference for Jeffery, the special teams turnover...I havent seen a replay but the grant turnover after a long crushing run.

Someone made charts like this for all the starting QB's...

Here's the entire album: http://imgur.com/a/KFlb9#0

Note on album: I could only get drops up to the end of November, so I adjusted each QB's stats accordingly (through Week 11). So it's not 100% up to date, until someone has a better source.

Jason La Canfora says a lot of weird things in this article...

No chance that Josh McDaniels would get hired. That'd be a special kind of stupid.

I love Toub as ST coach, but I don't think I want him as HC.

Kinda funny that Lovie's kid represents him.

Absolutely NO to McDaniels.

I'd run hard after Gruden or Cowher. Gruden is a good offensive coach and Cowher seems to know not to try and coach without a good OC. Problem with Cowher is that he wants to run the 3-4, and I doubt we have the personnel for that (Can Peppers play OLB? Would it extend his career somewhat? I dunno.).

And for the love of God, can we please get some help on the OLine? That might make even Lovie look good.

I'm not too into the retreads. Give me an up and coming offensive guy. I like Shannahan at the moment. Keep Marinelli and whoever he wants on his defensive staff. Keep Toub if he doesn't leave for a HC gig.

I'd go for Toub if I thought there was a good offensive guy who we could bring in as coordinator, but not sure how likely that is, plus that just leaves you likely to have your guy poached and lose continuity. Whereas if the offense is the head coaches scheme, you just promote and keep relative continuity.

And since Marinelli is never gonna get another HC job you really never risk losing him as long as you are willing to extend his contract. If you ever want to move on from Tampa 2 you can at least plan for it a bit.

Bill O'Brien is a great suggestion from that link. I think he's more likely to have NFL success than the probable hottest name coming out of college this offseason, Chip Kelly.

It's not a matter of having the refs take the game from them, it was just absurd how strongly they were working in the Packers favor when GB was clearly the better team that was going to win anyway.

Yeah, I'm not happy about it. I just can't work up much steam over it, knowing how they played overall.
