Doesn't sound like an academic thing, more a "family/personal" thing, which I assume means he just figured out how far away Indiana is from northern California.

I don't think there was a grades issue. But it sounds like he needed to take a class (foreign language is often an issue for ND as it requires more than the NCAA).

 

Also sounds like there is a personal reason. Who knows if that's family or gf or just not wanting to leave CA.

Everett Golson no longer enrolled at Notre Dame. I've seen rumors that he might have plagiarized and been kicked out of school, but that might just be Internet fodder.

That's Golson, Kiel, Vanderdoes, Aaron Lynch, Davonte Neal, Tee Shepard gone since the end of the '11 season. Throw in Deontay Greenberry's last-minute flip away from ND on signing day '12 if you want. That's the makings of a half-decent team.

 

2013 is pretty much a lost season now unless Malik Zaire morphs into Superman by August.
