They'd been playing really well. On the road....second night of a back to back...playing an "easy team"...felt like a night to fall flat.

SSR is silent because the Celtics did the exact same thing last year and ended up a game from the Finals. At this point last year people were calling the Celtics washed up and they needed to rebuild.

So much for that...

Deng, Hamilton, and a No.1 for Pierce and Barbosa? Nah, C's never do it, but its a nice fantasy.

I want nothing to do with Pierce or Garnett, personally.

Why?

Because I'm not convinced that Rose comes back at 100% this year, so that still doesn't put us in a position to win this season. If you're not gunning for it all this year, it's better to save the assets and get younger players when the time is right.

Plus, as a bonus to the logic of the whole thing, Garnett is a raging anus and Pierce is a drama queen.

You root for a team with Joakim Noah on it, and probably owned a Dennis Rodman jersey.

ETA: And that's not to mention Michael Jordan

Still doesn't change the logic of the whole thing.

ssr, what exactly has noah done that makes him so bad? he doesn't play dirty. he doesn't get into trouble off the court. his teammates love him. so you must hate him because he can be cocky and talks a lot. do you dislike jay cutler?

Yea. I have no idea what Joakim Noah is doing in that conversation.

Kevin Garnett is a colossal piece of [expletive].

Personally I'm still not convinced that this Rondo thing isn't a more elaborate version of the Pierce/wheelchair ploy.

"Derrick, he's a freak of nature," Hamilton said. "I'm serious, man. I seen him dunk one ball the other day, and I said, 'Man, you've got to be kidding.' He just went up, went up off the vertical, threw it in. And he's all humble, like, 'Ah, ha, ha.' But he's getting better every day."

Ok, but Pierce can still score in bunches and is inked at 16 mill a year through next year. You aren't committed to him for very long. Plus his walk year is the same as Hinrich's, which means you clear considerable cap space when there will be many desireable FA SG's and SF's, including LeBron and Carmelo.

If you are a person who thinks the Bulls are a legitimate threat in the East with a healthy Derrick Rose and you believe Derrick Rose will be healthy come playoffs, you pretty much have to be in favor of a realistic deal for Pierce.

I'd deal for Pierce and play him and Lu at 2/3 , but Bulls can't really take on salary because they are against the hard cap.

Totalling his 16 mil without giving up an already important piece is probably not possible.

Unless you trade them our whole bench, Deng, Boozer or Noah would have to go. And Boston ain't taking Boozer.

Edit: I guess they could make a deal headlined by Taj, Rip and someone else but I don't know if that BYC thingie is still something that's an issue with the new CBA (basically makes it really difficult to trade players in the first year of a new deal). Oh and also Boston would laugh if we offered that package.

Can either Lu or Pierce play 2 guard effectively?

Let's give the Celtics the Bobcats pick for Pierce. Straight up. SSR will love that deal.

I'd love for you guys to giftwrap Kevin Love to the Cs.

I don't even think our entire bench gets us there and even if it did, the trade wouldn't work because of roster number requirements.

However, if the Celts do blow it up, and can't move Pierce this year, he'll be available again in the offseason and the Bulls should have more flexibility, including Taj making more. So I'd pursue it in the offseason if it was still there and there weren't better moves available.

I believe BYC is gone in the new CBA. Or its impact at least negated.
