I didn't really want to hear the Nats win and have to deal with "See, you need to lose a million games a million years in a row and build from the draft, just like they did."

Mineaswell go full reality troll and have the Cardinals beat the Yankees in the World Series.

That said, I don't have a ton of sympathy for the brand new, fairweather Nats fans.

TRUTH.

tags still on their jerseys

Oh Lord, really? You're bagging on people not being diehards of a terrible new team when there was already an established one in the area?

Not bagging. Just not feeling sorry for the people crying in the crowd.

Why not? These are the kind of seasons that establish a young team's fanbase. The only fans that count are the ones who were rooting for the team since 2005?

I shouldn't be surprised, but jesus goddam christ. [expletive] you, universe.

The Cards & their fans just walk between the rain drops.

This is why the Giants had to win. At least STL has to face a team at full strength now.

I want to say the Giants have the pitching to shut them down but they didnt seem to have a problem with the Phillies last year. They just won't lose under any circumstances and I refuse to believe otherwise.

It's not going to be much more bearable to hear the meatballs declaring that this wouldn't have happened if they hadn't shut down Strasburg.

On the bright side, in like 100 years or so everyone who witnessed this will be dead and it'll be a footnote in history.

Yeah, but we're all dead in a couple of months, so it'll suck if the Cardinals win the last WS of all time.

would it be too much to ask for the cardinals to all die in a fire? maybe just badly injured with all non-baseball related abilities still intact?

I am shocked that you were able to spin the current discussion into your thoughts about the Cubs rebuilding plan.

I don't think they're gonna lose either, but at least they have to go through a whole team. The Reds would've been without Cueto if they had advanced just like the Nats without Strasburg.

I think the best chance STL has of losing at this point is if the Tigers win the ALCS and in fewer than seven games so Verlander can pitch at least twice.

You want Memphis to win it all? Cause they will.

If the engines on the Cardinals plane went out on their way to San Francisco for the ALCS one of their [expletive] payers would probably hop out onto the wings and manually restart the engines and safe the [expletive] day. I [expletive] hate them.
