I am looking at Stephen Drew's career playoff numbers...he's played 3 postseason series, and in 2 of them his OPS was .627 and .580. Of course the other series was against the Cubs where he had a .500/.500/1.143/1.643 OPS with a 2B, 3B and 2 HRs in 14 AB.

In fairness didn't almost every D'back hit like crazy in that series?? Even Augie had a few hits I remember.

@#%!$ Ojeda put up a 1.101 OPS in that series: 4-for-9 with a BB, HBP and 2b.

Just for fun, I calculate the Diamondbacks as having a .358 BABIP and 20% HR/FB ratio for that series. The Cubs were .257 and 3.8%.

Combining 2007 and 2008, the Cubs hit 60 fly balls and had 2 home runs to show for it, a 3.3% ratio.

I don't know which one of those series was more frustrating to watch. At least we briefly had the lead off of DeRosa's HR in game 1 until Dempster started pitching like [expletive]. I don't know if I felt worse after Young led off game 3 with the HR off Hill in 07, or Loney's HR in 08' or Ramirez's ridiculous HR off of Marshall in 08 that he literally threw the bat at. Ugh, now I'm gonna go to bed angry tonight.

'08 was worse. '08 was almost as bad as '03 was to me. We were the best team in the NL and didn't do a thing in the playoffs.

Has to be Loney. Young's HR sucked, but the Cubs were down 2-0 in the series. Loney's was in Game 1 and completely changed that game.

Wow. A's should win this game now with a runner on second and no outs.

Four more games tomorrow including a pair of Game 5's (SF at Cincinnati and Detroit at Oakland).

Yay!

I would be looking forward to tomorrow but the Cardinals making the NLCS will ruin my mood for the 2 evening games.

Hopefully SF can complete the comeback so we don't get the nightmare StL-Cincy NLCS matchup.

Also, I think its really dumb that the MLB would schedule a game 5 to start at noon on a weekday. What kind of crap is that? You have 2 game 4's that can go in that spot, or just play them at the same time. I know the networks wouldnt be thrilled, but screw that. Baseball fans have to work sometimes, even ones in Cincinnati and San Francisco.

Four elimination games tomorrow. Cool. Could you imagine staying up to 1 AM and then seeing your team blow a save and then have to get up for work?

There is potential for all series to go 5. Has this ever happened?

Nope. Closest was last year with 19 games out of a potential 20 (only Tex-TB went four). In 2003 there were 18 out of 20 (Fla-SF and NYY-Min went four each) as well as 2001 (Atl-Hou was a sweep).

We're guaranteed at least 18 this year.

Cards and Yankees win. Somewhere Satan is smiling.

Someone should give the Cardinals another free draft pick. They deserve it.

Another? When did they get one before?
