“@billbarnwell: When is Jay Cutler going to learn to get rid of the ball on time? And stop dressing up like Aaron Rodgers?”

If Aaron Rodgers was tough and cared he wouldn't be getting sacked.

Sadly they haven't really gotten a clean hit on him at full speed. Lots of grabs and drag downs.

I don't think I've seen this before, and that's really saying something. What's the sack record?

12, done five times, most recently by the Giants against the Eagles in 2007. The individual single game record is seven, done by Derrick Thomas. Only three other players have ever had six in a game. Clemons already has four in the game.

If you could read Aaron Rodgers' mind, he would be thinking, "I'm not saying you should shove your offensive lineman .... but I understand."

I think the reality of the loss of Sean Payton is finally hitting Saints fans. Like others I thought that the loss wouldn't be so profound given that Drew Brees is the epitome of a field general, but damnit if it isn't obvious now just how influential Payton was. I've been to both home games now and the fans are rabid as ever, but there is definitely a very queer feeling about it all. There is definitely a sense that something is missing. We caught a glimpse of this last year when Payton was injured and had to sit up in the booth. The team was absolutely not clicking on all cylinders during those games. Other than the opening loss against the Packers, their only regular season losses came in the three or four week stretch where he wasn't on the sidelines.

Also, the Saints D, which has always been mediocre at best is now downright terrible. They just don't have the personnel to run a Spagz defensive scheme. Will Smith is on his last leg and losing Vilma is a devastating blow. There isn't a single pro-bowl caliber player anywhere near the defensive roster this season. Carl Nicks was also a HUGE loss on the OL as witnessed by Brees being hit and running for his life more than I've ever seen.

Karma I guess

I also was at the Dome Sunday for the Chiefs game, and I agree that the fans were as rabid as ever. But as many games as I have attended, this was the first time that I saw fans in the Dome with an almost fatalistic attitude. As soon as KC got that safety, I heard all around me something to the effect of, "We're going to lose this game." I haven't felt or heard that sense of doom since Aaron Brooks and Jim Haslett were here. I never thought I would miss Meacham, but teams have figured out that if you take away Jimmy Graham and pressure Drew so he doesn't have time to go deep, this offense becomes very pedestrian. Where the [expletive] has Colston gone? And what happened to the screen game? Losing Nicks was a huge blow and now Drew is trying to do too much.

The only guy on defense who is near pro-bowl caliber is Malcom Jenkins. On WIST today they recalled our 1st and 2nd round defensive draft picks in the Payton/Loomis era: Jenkins, Roman Harper, Sedrick Ellis, Patrick Robinson, Johnny Patrick, Cam Jordan, Tracey Porter. Ugh.

Is Rodgers the only quarterback in the league who doesn't get blamed for sacks?

He won a Super Bowl. Nothing he ever does will ever be wrong, ever again.

It's too bad Seattle couldn't do crap on offense outside of the one score. This one looks like it's over. Pretty crazy that there are OCs who can make in-game adjustments to pressure.

It's [expletive] annoying. Not that anyone here should care, but Sam Bradford had no time to do anything yesterday against a dominant Bears defensive line and a secondary that played outstanding, yet he's eating a [expletive] sandwich for his performance. Tomorrow the punditry will be hollering their asses off about how Rodgers did the best he could but the team around him failed.

Between the missed holds and that PI call, the officials are handing the game to green bay in the second half
