Yeah, because a media friendly, 1st round QB is exactly what will fix this OLine.

How would that occur? Even with Jason Campbell we'd win too many games to get that draft pick.

I was thinking we give Enderle a chance, but I have no idea if he's on the team or even in the NFL.

This organization has been a running joke since the mid 90's.

That is an incredibly stupid statement.

aside from a few years in the mid 2000's, its not that far off

It's very far off. They were a joke in the mid-90's. Since then they have been among the more successful franchises in the league. They've frustratingly failed to seize the opportunity to be great, but they aren't a joke.

Just take a flyer on Brian Hoyer or someone and see if he can dodge pass rushers for like 12 games. Cut Webb and sign someone off the scrap heap. Trade Marshall, Jeffry, and Peppers.

Yep, yet another failed 3rd round pick.

All reports are that we can pin that one on Martz though. That was his pet project.

Slaton would be great if he's still in good shape.

He had some good games/seasons for Houston. A Slaton/Bush comb at RB would actually be pretty good while Forte is out. Assuming, like you said, Slaton is still in playing shape.

Slaton would be just fine as a #2 option considering the situation.

On a positive note, the defense was fantastic. Nice to see McClellin have a nice game. And I can't believe how good Tim Jennings has become.

Eli Manning won the Superbowl last year, yet in Weeks 15 and 16 fighting for a division title (not Week 2, mind you!) he followed a 0 TD, 3 INT loss to lowly Washington (ironically a 23-10 score) with a 9-27 performance vs. the Jets. Rodgers had a 3 of 4 game stretch in his Superbowl season where he barely completed 1/2 his passes, losing to 2 bad teams (WAS, MIA) and beating the Jets 9-0. Hell he got to the Superbowl that year putting up a 0 TD, 2 INT game vs. the Bears with a 55.4 QB rating. In his 50 TD season, Brady got to the SB despite thrown 3 INTs in the championship game.

Point is, bad games happen to good QBs. They happen more often when that good QB doesn't have good players around him. Cutler doesn't have a ton of good players, including 0 blocking for him on a play-to-play basis. He played like [expletive] last night, but he had a lot of company.

I don't think the Rams will be a cakewalk, but the Bears should be able to beat them. Their DB's have improved a bunch this off-season. They have troubles against the run, still, and we have a major size advantage (aside from Trumaine Johnson) with our WR's, so hopefully we can exploit that. Courtland Finnegan does a good job of being a dick, and the Bears seem to respond negatively to that (re: AJ Hawk).

I assume we won't hear more about Forte until Monday. There's 18 days between the injury and the MNF game in Dallas, so that could be a possibility depending on the severity.

I'll be watching their game this week much more than I usually would. They gave Detroit a tough time and I'm not sure if it means anything.

They have two pretty good corners. I don't know anything about their front 7.

Laurinitis and Long. That's about it. Their O-line is worse than the Bears. Especially if Saffold is still out.
