I was supposed to be at this game, but unfortuantely I had/have a horrible stomach flu that kept me from going on my business trip to Houston. It's probably better that way, but I was looking forward to seeing Minute Maid Park for the first time, plus the historic last "Cubs/Astros with the Astros a division and league rival" game. Oh well.

Beef.

He really isn't getting the pub he deserves. We've got our catcher.

Love him.

Needs to cut down on the strikeouts a little bit. Probably unrealistic to assume a 382 BAPIP going forward, so getting more balls in play would be great. But I agree....a definite bright spot from this season.

I really wanted Sappelt to be up early this year to get a better idea of what kind of player he can be. Glad he's up now and playing well. He could be a good 4/5th OF going into next year.

Side not, with that HR Soriano has 95 RBI's and will likely get to 100 for his first time in his Cubs career and only 3rd time in his MLB career. I know RBI's are a virtually meaningless stat to judge a players value, but I found it interesting he's only done that twice before. At least it's a stat that should shut the local meatballs up about him not producing or whatever.

Well, considering how many years he hit leadoff it's not surprising he wouldn't have knocked in 100 too many times.

I know that, but he also was in the AL for a good chunk of his career and didn't have a pitcher in his lineups and he played on some really good offensive teams in NY and a huge hitters park in TEX. I just thought he would've done it more than twice.
