Well, once they start losing money, this will get resolved really quickly. But until then, there's nothing forcing the NFL's hand.

The ball was tipped by a defender, but that doesn't change the fact the receiver was being mugged well before the ball got to the defender who tipped the ball. They made the correct call at full speed at the time the play happened. In slow motion watching it over and over from different angles, they reversed the penalty.

 

The only explanation is they didn't want to deal with the wrath of Fox if the penalty wasn't overturned. Atlanta almost surely would have scored on that series. Instead, it forced a punt.
