Yesterday was Seth McClung. Today is Horacio Ramirez. Any guesses which pitcher who might have had a decent season several years ago will be scraped of the pavement for to start for the I Cubs romorrow? My money's on Brandon Backe.

I don't understand you, sometimes you're all about taking a chance on a washed up guy. Then other times you blast it.

You're still trying to understand?

I'm all about reclamation projects that have a shot, be it a small one of producing high rewards. I have no interest in retreads that if all goes well could be something between Justin Germano and Rodrigo Lopez. Joke about my love of "fliers" but I'd take a 1 armed Scott Kazmir over a fully healthy Tomo Ohka any day.

I just don't see the harm, they're AAA pitchers. They'll have no impact on anything that matters. Who knows, maybe one of them found a knuckleball somewhere.

Anybody have an explanation for Dae Eun Rhee's horrid strikeout rate this year? Even last year in his first full season post Tommy John, he had 8.2 K/9. Could moving from A+ to AA really cause him to strike out batters at almost half the rate?

There's really no harm, unless they're blocking someone. I personally find the revolving door of retreads more comical than anything.

Soler IS in the lineup tonight.

And is 0-2 with a K. Baez with a single and SB in 3 ABs. Ball in play all 3 times. Villanueva is 2-3 with a double and RBI.

Peralta having another good game after a bad one. 5Ks thru 4 innings, 3 hits allowed, 0 BBs.

Well damn. All 3 of those hitters struck out in their subsequent AB, and Peralta struck out 2 more, but gave up a HR and now has runners at 2nd and 3rd with 0 outs.

Ryan McNeil threw 3 scoreless. Rehabbing Rafael Dolis followed with a scoreless inning.

Vogebach has a triple.

I've been looking for a reason to say thanks CaliforniaRaisin and everyone contributing here. This minor league season has been a fun one.

I like Vogelbomb a little bit, but the slight misspelling here made me think of another great nickname for him.... wait for it.... Vogue le' Bach. With Vogue being ironic given his physique, and the ch in bach being pronounced sh (like they do in French I think). Just think about it.

I agree - thanks Raisin and everyone else who does the daily stuff to start threads/link etc. Do not agree on Vogelbach.
