If you build it, he will come. A McDonalds that is. Seriously though, this kid is raking. Again, can he really be any worse of an outfielder than Adam Dunn was?

Of course he can. The argument "can he be any worse than ...?" isn't really a valid point. Someone can always be worse.

Can anyone give an example of a player like Vogelbach who was viewed as a DH coming through an NL teams farm system?

Maybe LaPorta? I don't know how his defense was viewed.

Jaff Decker.

How many examples are there of a guy a guy like Vogelbach coming through an AL system viewed as a DH? Most guys at least have a position or two.

Adam Dunn was a horrendous and completely unacceptable OFer, so God only knows what the [expletive] you're talking about.

What I'm talking about is that as horrendous his OF defense was, his bat was valuable enough that they were willing to accept it in order to get it in the lineup, so assuming he continues to develope as the beast that he is early on, and assuming that Rizzo is our long term 1B, is giving Vogelbach some OF reps an option?

Just because a team was stupid enough to be "willing to accept it" doesn't mean it was a good decision. Dunn basically annihilated his WAR during his peak years because of how bad his defense was.

Wow. Actually a little more glad Candelario had a big game, hasn't had one in ages.

Baez is making me sad.

I don't understand the concern. Take a look at McCutchen's numbers in the minors when he was rapidly promoted.

But why male models?

There's nothing wrong with someone as talented and confident as Baez hitting a small patch of adversity. If he's what we all think and hope he'll be, he'll figure it out and learn from the experience.
