Because Valbuena and LaHair do not deserve to play, especially against a left handed starting pitcher.

I think he meant why is Baker playing RF and Mather playing 3rd. Mather is brutal at 3rd.

Yes. Mather is a better outfielder and Baker is a better third baseman.

He was a 3B for the majority of his time in the minors. 85 career games at the ML level.

Not this year though. So there must be something Sveum just sees that has brought him to the conclusion he shouldn't be played there. Not sure what.

No traded cash for him when we thought the Dempster trade was close. This was before we had heard anything about Delgado even. Not sure what he's been doing since then.

so maybe we can still win the Z for Volstad trade! I guess when the PR department was spinning that Volstad might actually be better than Z, they should have worded it, that Z might end up worse than Volstad.
