@PeoChiefsGame: 1st pitch of game is lined up the middle by Ryan Brett and hits Peralta in the left shin. Currently getting attended to by training staff

@PeoChiefsGame: Peralta will stay in the game. Appeared they were looking at his ankle or lower shin. Ball bounced off his leg and into foul territory

It would be swell if our prospects would stop getting pelted by baseballs.

Well, Peralta has retired 6 of the 7 batters he's faced since the line drive so it looks like he's fine.

4 IP, 5 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 5 K for Peralta thus far. 3-0 GO-FO, continuing his nice run as a groundball pitcher of late.

Baez is 0/2 with a sac fly (other two outs were a 6-3 groundout and a flyout).

Peralta's final line is: 5 IP, 5 H, 0 R, 3 BB, 5 K, 5-1 GO-FO. Danced in and out of a few jams but he now hasn't allowed an earned run in 14 consecutive innings.

Anyone got a breakdown on what Rosario, Peralta, and Arias throw?

Off the top of my head, Arias is 92-96, Rosario 93-97 and Peralta 90-93 (w/ potential to add velocity). I think all 3 are slider guys. I have more complete info at home and will post if I remember tonight.

RBI single for Baez

Broke his bat on it. Singled after Hoilman was intentionally walked.

HA. That manager must not have major league aspirations.

Yeah. He must not have read the scouting report.

What kills me is that this is the 3rd game of the series. Baez was already 6 of 9 with a double, two triples, and a home run before today.
Posted
It looks like Hoilman had already doubled twice in today's game while Baez was hitless. That makes it a little more understandable, but it still isn't ever the right move.

That makes 9, according to BBRef.

Thanks. I originally was going to say double digits, but I thought that would be a bit much.

Any idea why this is happening so often? It didn't appear as if his stance was on top of the plate in the home run video from Saturday.

Could be a fluke, maybe he lunges over a bit, could be pitchers know he is one of the better hitters they will be facing so maybe they are trying to throw harder/make their pitches break more and they are losing command because of it, maybe he really hangs in the box a long time and since it's A ball a lot of the breaking stuff he's facing isn't polished/that great/guys are working on it so a lot of stuff that he thinks is going to break more just doesn't. My 2 cents at least.

I thought about the breaking stuff and just wondered if someone who had seen him play noticed anything. Hopefully, one of these don't turn into an injury that slow his development.

Any chance of him being a raging douche and these other young guys taking it out on him? Not that I really care unless it leads to him getting hurt. Usually great players are all douches.
