And Vitters finishes his day with an 8-pitch walk.

That's it, screw it, he's a better prospect than Jackson right now.

and candelario is the best prospect in the system.

I'm not sure it's that crazy.

SS David Bote hits a 3-run HR in his second pro AB.

right now he's my top prospect in the system.

Vitters > Jackson says a lot more about Jackson than it does about Vitters, although I'm very happy with Vitters' season.

Callis said today if Candelario keeps this up, he's in the Cubs top 10. Too early for top 100, next year for that.

He's definitely in my top 10, I'd probably rank him 6 or 7 right now, with a chance to get 4-5 for me by seasons end. Baez, Soler, Almora are 1/2/3 for me and then I think you can make arguments for a number of guys ranking anywhere from 4-10 out of the group of Vitters, Jackson, Candelario, Szczur, Lake, Hernandez, group of the young pitchers (Maples, Blackburn, Johnson, Underwood)

Sorry, I meant the post about Vitters > Jackson he was sarcastically responding to.

But yea, I'm very excited about Candelario, too. And I pretty much agree with that.

Just to confirm that he's a 6-tool guy, his next time up he walked and stole.

Vitters last 10 games (hit streak): .474/.524/.868/1.392

That's some decent production right there.

Perhaps Kevin Encarnacion's the DSL equivanlent of Hoffpauir/Fox/Lahair?, but he is now 3rd in the DSL in OBP & OPS and 5th in SLG. Yesterday, he went 1-3 with a 2B and 2BB. He now has 18 BB not even 1/3 of the way through their season, and his previous career high is 36. He also has 5 HR, and he's never had more than 1 in a season. While it's one thing for a guy repeating a level for the 2nd or 3rd time to raise his slugging, OBP isn't as easy to fake, so isn't that worth something? And perhaps most intrigung of all, until recently, he was named "Kelvin", but now is listed as Kevin. The last pro-athlete I can think of who made that type of subtle 1 letter name change is Akeem Olajuwon becoming Hakeem Olajuwon, so he's in very good company. Due to his age and the fact that he's tearing up the DSL, they should bump him up to Peoria, or even Daytona due to the age factor.
