I am a bit surprised Theo didn't show any interest. Has Youk really fallen off that much?

 

Also, is Stewart really worth anything?

 

You are surprised that the Cubs didn't give up prospects to acquire a 33 year old player whose numbers have deteriorated and is a FA after next season?

 

I'm not sure the Cubs would have had to give up prospects, considering all it took was a junkballer and a 25th guy /devil's advocate

 

Even if we could have got him for say Coleman and DeWitt, I'd just assume put Vitters at 3rd, or if he's not ready by then, give Stewart another year.

Every appearance of "just assume" should come with a three-day ban. Just mind blowing.

It's hard for me to say anyone robbed much of anyone else, since this appears to be a garbage swap. Youk's back must be in really bad shape if that's the best they could get for him after dangling him on the open market for months, but the White Sox 3rd base situation is so bad it's worth the flier for them.

Even if Youk hits as poorly as he has been, it's still a big upgrade from what the Sox have been getting out of 3B. This was a no-brainer for Williams.
