what would candelario have to do in boise to crack the top 100?

I think at this level, the scouting reports are going to matter a lot more than his results.

So I guess the answer would be "Look like a top-100 prospect"?

Yes, as long as he looks like he can stick at 3B (which he has, thus far).

Candelario and Hernandez are now both 2/2 - each with a HR and a single.

@BenBadler: Fourth home run today in 10 NWL games for #Cubs 3B Jeimer Candelario. Plenty of great seats remaining on the bandwagon.

Been on that one for about a year.

My next guy is Amaya. Hearing good things about his d at second, and of course his bat is really exciting. I think he's ahead of Marco already for me, and will be for everyone else by the end of the year.

Disagree. It's going to take a lot from Amaya's bat to put him ahead of Hernandez since Hernandez is a capable defensive shortstop prospect.

His bat is looking pretty good right now, though. 15-40, with 5 XBHs, 1 BB every 10 AB, respectable K-rate so far. Even had that double in Iowa earlier this year. I know everyone in Boise has a long way to go, but I'm really excited about Amaya (along with Hernandez and obviously Candelario).

It better be a big wagon then. I'd have to assume that if he continues, he'll easily break our top 5 in 2013, maybe even a few Top 100 lists. Especially if he ends up in Peoria by the end of the season and hits there as well. Maybe even top 3 considering that Soler and Almora have yet to debut or even sign.

I've been on the Candelario bandwagon since I noticed him taking an absurd number of walks last year in the DSL.

Dunston with a solo shot in 2nd.

I think Dunston is going to be a solid prospect.

Maybe he'll have his dad's decent hit tool and speed with a much better approach.

what would candelario have to do in boise to crack the top 100?

Raisin mentioned a .900 OPS. Makes sense to me. Badler loves him and said it's quite possible he could make it, by the way.

Hmm...I would have doubted that someone who has only played in short season ball could make the list.

Miguel Sano was BA's 18th best prospect in baseball after playing short season ball last year.

i'm pretty sure guys make the top 100 all the time and don't play at all professionally the previous year. although this won't happen much anymore with the new deadline

That's true too. Javier Baez made BA's top 100 after topping out at shortseason last year.
