On a side note, about inside info......It'd be pretty interesting to find out how the best guys locally have had to re-establish connections and gain new ones with the new regime. Levine was certainly a favorite of the Hendry group, but I haven't figured out who gets the most stuff from the new guys yet. In fact, part of me thinks they prefer sending stuff to the national guys over the local ones.

Levine said on Waddle and Silvy the other day that the majority of his information comes from other teams. Sounds like there are little to no sources inside the front office nowadays, a major change from the Hendry regime.

That said, someone already posted that someone else who heard it on the radio said Levine wasn't reporting it as fact or anything official. He just gave a range of dates. The OP was misleading.

I changed the title to reflect that a little better.

As I said earlier, Levine has no inside information whatsoever. Feel free to disagree with me davell but you'll be hard-pressed to find any information out of Levine that isn't a) pure speculation on his part -- or-- b) not widely known by anything that follows the team to any extent. If you choose to continue to suckle from the Levine teet, be my guest.

I'm going to listen to him as long as he continues to tell me what I want to hear.

Uh, at what point did I say Levine has inside info at this point?

They needed to do something about that Roger Waters damage (I'm guessing that's what the repairs are about).

Looking at some photos of the concert, I would have loved to go to it.

Yeah. The new sod isn't for Rizzo. The outfield needed new sod because it was severely damaged after the concert.

From what I understand, the field was that bad because it was the first time they had a concert and then a home game only a day or so later. With the soccer friendly(which should do far less damage than a concert), it will be held on a Saturday and there isn't a home game til the following Friday, so there shouldn't be an issue.

And at this point, this many games under .500, I'd rather they booted the Cubs to whatever closest stadium was available for a game if things went awry than lose out on one of Roger Waters (alleged) last performances of The Wall.

Yeah there were actually 2 concerts in 2 days, Roger Waters on Friday, Brad Paisley on Saturday, and then the Cubs played at Wrigley on Tuesday. It was bound to be terrible but I was still surprised at how bad it was.

Yes, I was @ Wrigley June 14th. I can't remember who, but somehow it was reported there were two concerts, not just Roger Waters.

I'm glad they are doing something about it. The dead grass all the way across the outfield was particularly visible. I was in the upper deck that day.

Good morning Paul, Can you shed some light on why the field at Wrigley is in such poor shape after last weekend's two concerts when it hasn't been like that in years past when there have been concerts. As a lifelong Cub fan this was very disturbing when my wife and I were there this past Wednesday. Bob Kubasiak, River Grove, Ill.

Oh my god you weirdo. Why is trampled grass disturbing? You have mental issues.

Hope he's not a Bears fan. He might have a breakdown seeing their grass.

Anyone else somewhat interested by what the corresponding move will be if/when Rizzo gets the call? Cardenas and Valbuena are both out of options, I'm pretty sure anyway. They could try and shop Johnson, Baker, or Mather,

and maybe that's what's holding things up a bit. Campana's the only one with options left and Sveum loves the little rascal. I suppose if they really wanted they could send down Wells, Coleman, or Maine and then call up another interchangeable mop up guy when they find a taker for one of the other guys or cut one.
