Solid debut for Archer for TB tonite. 6 inn 2er 7ks 82 pitches 49 strikes. It looks like I was right when I said we should've given up McNutt instead. Archer was the first pitcher in the last 235 games to start a game for Tampa that wasn't drafted by Tampa

You were so right, especially since you know exactly what Tampa wanted in return. Jesus christ

There were rumors that Tampa let the Cubs decide who to part with between Archer and McNutt and the Cubs decided to keep McNutt.

with potential dempster and/or garza trades coming, how likely is it that brett jackson falls out of the cubs top 5 prospects?

In a Garza trade, I'd hope so. Doubt the Cubs will get someone better than Jackson in a Dempster trade.

The AZL Cubs are going with a bunch of rehabbers and guys whose mechanics are being fixed and would otherwise not be in the AZL. First Cates, followed by Zach Rosscup (who was stellar) and now Shane Lindsay is in.

is cates one of the guys whose mechanics are being fixed? he was God awful in daytona.

i pretty much know nothing about shane lindsay, but he's 27 years old and appears to have bounced around quite a bit. and his walk numbers are appalling.

I believe so.

He strikes me as an Aussie Casey Weathers. Nothing more to see here.

I was responding about Cates.

Yeah, I guessed as much so I wanted to clarify. Admittedly, I hear Lindsay is in Mesa for the same reason.

Vogelbach dressed, but was the only guy who didn't participate in any pre game stuff. AZPhil speculated he may have tweaked something.

Arizona Phil also said Rosscup was working at 94. Apparently Rosscup tweeted that he's headed up to Boise.

How do you tweak fat?

by doing the truffle shuffle without stretching?

From the Boise Hawks radio blog:

Mike Safford[/url]"]Jeimer Candelario (pictured left) hit a long two-run homer (first non-solo homer of the season by the Hawks), and despite taking the loss, Amaury Paulino was sharp until tiring in his fourth inning of work.

I wonder if he's going to be in the rotation? I imagine if he is in the rotation, he'll be back to his high 80's, topping in the low 90's velo. If he can consistently go 93-94 out of the pen, I don't know if I would be against fast-tracking him a bit as a pen lefty. I liked him enough as a starter, but there's a glut of back of the rotation, average velo lefties.

Btw, was AzPhil's comments the first time that it was "confirmed" that Wells had TJS? Shame, but I guess once the news came out, we all anticipated TJS.

I feel like this girl took crazy pills before her interview
