Jensen's been excellent again. My guess at midseason, we see Struck to AAA, Rhee moved to the pen, Kirk and Loosen to AA, and Burke and Jensen to Daytona.

Would have been ball four anyway. :)

Yeah Jensen is ready for Daytona now.

Really seems like he has the ability to not swing at bad pitches. I'm not saying it'll translate into great discipline at higher levels, but it's not something that worries me about him either.

Hope they don't give up on Rhee as a starter, certainly not for Austin Kirk of all people.

McNutt with another rough start.

Some Brett Jackson doombonering:

He's got a 32.9% K rate at AAA this season, after a 31.0% in his taste of AAA last season.

It'd be optimistic to hope that 32.9% at AAA turns into 35% in MLB. 40% might be on the table.

But in 600 PAs, at 35%, that's 210 Ks. If he hits 15 HRs and draws 60 BBs in those 600 PAs, he would need 111 BIP hits to get to a .310 OPB. That's a .352 MLB BABIP, which I really don't think he can sustain.

Hopefully, the adjustment to fix whatever hole is in his swing can come by the end of the year.

I'm thinking that if Jackson were to be called up today, he'd be lefty Drew Stubbs, and in a few years time he'll be Chris Young. And that's not a bad thing by any means.

I've used this stat before, but Drew Stubbs struck out 22% of the time at AAA and never more than 25% in the minor leagues. Jackson was at 33% coming into today, though he improved a bit with 4 K-less PAs.

Jackson is on pace to be a strikeout-heavier version of Drew Stubbs, which is saying something.

@BleacherNation: Holy smokes! RT @peoriachiefs

Hunter Cervenka gets 1st out in 9th and has now retired 27 straight batters dating back to May 26 #perfectgame

Although he did give up 2 hits and 2 unearned runs after this was posted. And Bowden threw 1.2 and Kd 4 with 1 H and 0 BB. Good day for the Marlon Byrd trade.

I think I'm just about ready to pull the plug on Rhee and McNutt as starters. Granted, both are still young enough to turn things around, but I think both could help the major league pen by next season. And I don't think either has enough true upside at this point, that putting them in the pen and hoping for a back end of the pen arm to emerge, could be construed as a true negative.

You're ready to pull the plug on Rhee as a starter after 2 months at AA? That seems rather quick, especially when you consider Rhee started off poorly last year and then finished very strong. To top it off, Austin Kirk is a non-prospect for me so there's no reason for his promotion to dictate what happens to Rhee.

Also, while I think McNutt ends up as a reliever in the end, it's best if he gets starter innings to work on his mechanical issues for now.

Eh, maybe I'm letting Goldstein take too much precedence for me. Last night, He said Kirk doesn't have stuff, but does have pitchability, so it gives him a chance.

Pitchability is nice but the FSL is a pitcher's league and his stuff is very short.

Tayler Scott got a strikeout to end the first on what sounded like a really good splitter.

LOL. Makes it sound like you have the ability to hear the spin and break of the pitch.

Here's video of that PA:

You get a pretty good idea of the bat speed there. It was obvious all game. His single was a rocket into left field, and even his popup in the first was impressive. It stayed up in the air longer than any other fly ball and the Clinton LF and SS had a hard time with it.

Hayden Simpson: Bad

Hayden actually looked pretty good for the first two innings, now his third inning....

How did Scott look?
