They've played Boston an unprecedented number of times on Saturday June 16.

Yes, I know it was the Braves at the time, but still.

Yeah, I've noticed a lot of that kind of thing looking back over old schedules. Sometimes I think they had 2 or 3 cookie cutter schedules and kept re-using them over and over. I recall seeing a stretch of about 35 years where the CUBS only opened their season against 3 different teams (of course, that's 3 out of 7 possible opponents, but still....). It's fun to look at.

i thought there was some rule about playing night games at wrigley on saturdays.

there was/is. fridays too. they made exceptions for this and the white sox series this year.

And last year against the Giants. I'm guessing it might have something to do with Fox airing their games in prime time unlike years past. Rather weird to see a Friday day game followed by games on Saturday and Sunday night.

‪#Cubs‬ Saturday: Johnson RF, Barney 2B, Castro SS, Soriano LF, Baker 1B, Mather CF, Castillo C, Valbuena 3B, Samardzija P

I was about to post how awful this lineup is, and it is, but now that I think about it, I can't disagree with anything outside of Jeff Baker. Man this team sucks.

Fiancé is out of town, the 24 Hours of LeMans is in full swing, and the beer is flowing. Race on the TV, baseball on the laptop, surfing the web on the iPad. Tomorrow is going to suck.
