Hit a rocket right at Middlebrooks, who botched it, but knocked it down and threw him out. Soriano didn't run out of the box and was booed mercilessly and shunned by McCarver.

Hit a hard liner to third and assumed it was caught, but it was bobbled. He didn't run initially, and was out by 70 feet instead of 65.

and we get blown out tomorrow

seen this series before

Jesus Christ, just relax. Can you not enjoy a game at all unless they win?

The typical Aramis Fan/Nuts & Gum game thread exchange. Speaking of things I've seen before.

#Cubs Samardzija on Sori: "There's not one guy in that locker room that has anything bad to say about Sori."

#Cubs Samardzija also sticks up for Soriano: "One of the best teammates you could ever have. Plays the game the right way."

#Cubs Sveum firmly defends Soriano: "100 percent of every player in the history of baseball would do the same thing."

Cubs players and coaches in full and emphatic support of Soriano. Watch for the story from @ESPNBruceLevine.

i didn't see the game, what the hell happened?

Yikes, those make it seem like he cost the team a playoff spot.

ESPN should put together a two-shot montage of that and Castro running toward the dugout with two outs and point out how Swaim needs to be doing a better job and these guys need to stop being so lazy and this kind of poor play is why the Cubs are where they are now and everyone needs to be more like Darwin Barney and Tony Campana. Maybe they could get Valentine to discuss this from the dugout.
