Does anyone still want to argue for Jackson over Rizzo as the #1 prospect?

Jackson triples after an eight pitch at bat. good day for the big three at Iowa.

Rizzo really has nothing left to prove in AAA. At this point I'm just praying that Soriano starts producing, we find an AL team dumb enough to take him and his disgusting contract in a trade, we move LaHair to LF, and then we call up Rizzo to take his place at 1B.

Simpson and Cates have both sucked for Daytona.

you are going to be praying for a long time if you are hoping for this.

BJax bomb

If gameday is correct, he hit a monster shot well past the 405 sign.

For some reason, most analysts see Rizzo hitting. 260-.270ish in the majors. May have thought Votto would do the same, for all I know. It's got to be getting tough for them to keep him down at this point. His bat could conceivably help us out this season even. Legit, could be like trading for a big bat.

he does strike out a good bit. his babip's the last two years at AAA have to be crazy high.

.369 last year and .384 this year

19.1 K% is his lowest since 2009, but his 8.3 BB% is also his lowest since 2008

The walk rate doesn't bother me at all, because he's obviously seeing it well right now. Hopefully, he's another guy that's going to be able to sustain a high babip.

For the hell of it, Votto's career minor league numbers are 3016 PA, 97 homers, 404 walks, 665 K's, with a line of. 289/.386/.477. Rizzo's minor league line is 1786 PA, 77 homers, 171 walks, 367 K's, with a line of. 302/.371/.531. Yeah, he's had the PCL and Votto did not, but he's also been younger than Votto was at each level. So yeah, now I'm going to be irrationally thinking Rizzo is the next Votto. Not really, but his numbers stack up very well at least.

Rock Shoulders seems to be hitting a lot better down in Mesa. Hit a double today.

Whitenack was great: 5 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 4 K, 8-2 GO-FO on 60 pitches.

Thanks CaliforniaRaisin for posting this everyday! So I haven't looked at everyone of Arizona Phil's posts, but I don't think I have ever seen Gretzky with a hit. Does anyone remember him hitting the ball, this year or even last year?

I am hoping for a "the ones who walk away from the Omelas" situation here. Where Gretzky tries for several years, but he spends his entire EXST career at his floor, and all the other 2011 draftees reach their ceiling.
