Damnit.

We just cannot win 3 in a row.

Of course it's [expletive] Molina.

The Cards announcers totally called that also. The said often times he takes a pitch well inside then guesses that the pitcher is going back outside and shoots a ball up the middle or to the right side. And that's exactly what happened.

I hope he gets hepatitis from his Chinese character tatoos

I should clarify, I hope he dies from the hepatitis.

Tonight.

How about like now?

Cubs, Twins and Padres are the only teams without a three-game winning streak this year.

It's getting about time to give more of Wood's late innings to Bowden. He can't be counted on in high leverage spots as long as he's spotting the opponent a walk or two every outing.

Sorry for being a compassionate individual David.

All 4 pitchers who pitched for the Cubs blew a lead or allowed the Cardinals to take the lead.

Maholm blows a 3-0 lead and then allows the go-ahead run

Wood blows a 5-4 lead

Russell blows a 5-5 tie

Dollis blows a 6-6 tie

Not very clutch today. Oh well.

Barney almost had that. Damn

I haven't seen the play, but a friend said it would have been a routine grounder if Barney wasn't playing up the middle. I know there have been a lot of plays in the Cubs favor, but when the opposing player hits away from the shift, it seems to be a scoring play. Personally, I have a hard time believing Molina pulls that ball that much, especially late in the game with runners on base.

Anyway, based on in-game decisions by Sveum, I sure hope the front office can pick young talent better than they picked the manager.

The shifts have saved the Cubs a lot more runs than they've cost them. Complain about all the outs freely given up, not the ones he's actually saved through efficient defense and baserunning.

The bullpen is back to being the worst in baseball. By a decent margin, now.

It's too bad, because the team would be around .500 with a decent bullpen.
