Just popped up on Roto

Cubs acquired LHP Hunter Cervenka from the Red Sox to complete the Marlon Byrd trade.

Cervenka, 22, has an 8.04 ERA over nine relief appearances with Class A Greenville this year and has averaged 7.2 BB/9 over parts of four seasons in the minors. He's very much a project, but Theo Epstein and Jed Hoyer are obviously fans of him.

Lahair now on pace for 41 2B, 45 HR and 95 RBI

Never in my wildest imagination would I have expected this. Even if pitchers figure him out and he ends up being terrible the rest of the way, this is more than I expected out of him. And the odds of pitchers figuring him out enough that he struggles the rest of the year is dwindling by the day.

I'm dead serious that I think we've found ourselves Adam Dunn 2.0. A tiny bit more BA and a tiny bit less power, but basically a clone.

Please hold them to one, Kerry.

Man, I'd like to get a LaHair jersey but I'm cheap and think they're going to trade him later this year.

Hahahaha. Wood walks Furcal on four pitches.

Skip Schumaker's first thought is "Man, I can't wait to hack at the first pitch."

Yeah, seriously, talk about stupid.

I wish Wood would stop trying to make me not like him, because I really don't want to not like him.

My thoughts exactly.

I hope Kerry doesn't lose his temper this time, he's really going to hurt his chances of Ricketts given him that mascot job after this year.

And I thought this was gonna be easy.

No, this game will go 12 innings and I'll get caught in the game traffic trying to get home from work.

Mission accomplished, I guess. :|

Yeah I think Castro is the only safe bet for at least this year and probably next year. I have my Castro jersey shirt which is my main Cubs game shirt now that my Aramis Ramirez jersey is obsolete.

Has Kerry Wood blown every lead he's had this year.

if not, then close to it. He had a 916 OPS against in save situations last year over 119 PA, 881 when the Cubs were ahead compared to 422 when they were behind. He's got a 1250 OPS against in save situations this year, 950 in late/close. He's just been worthless.
