Hahahahahahahahaha

But since we are on the topic of the Brewers. Aramis Ramirez has been unreal. Dude plays about 5x better defense then I thought he did.

maybe you should pay better attention next time.

He's been pretty bad his entire career.

Pirates have lost 6 straight and are just two games above .500 (72-70).

Man, what a kick in the nuts it would be to fall short of .500 this year

I find myself really rooting for them to make it. I'd like to see them and the Braves get the wild card spots.

And yet they're still only 2.5 out of the wild card because LA and St. Louis have both lost 6 of 7. The Cards have also lost 11 of 15 while the Dodgers have lost 11 of 16.

Heh. The Dodgers are 6-11 since the trade with the Red Sox.

Adrian Gonzalez is posting a .643 OPS as a Dodger.

I get Chipper was a very good player and all, but why this huge farewell tour where every time he makes his last stop in a stadium he is given [expletive]??

He was good, not great. He wasn't a once in a generation type guy and it's not like he holds and major records. I find it kind of odd the reception he's getting in visiting cities from other teams. Outside of a nice applause from the fans during his first/last ab's of a series I don't see why he's getting stuff.

Whoa. Chipper Jones wasn't great? He's got a lifetime OPS+ of 141.

Whoa, I guess he was. He's in the top 5 for OPS by 3B ever. I guess I was too young to really remember Chipper in his prime and only really remember the last 5 or so years where he had some really good seasons but also was injured a lot. Forget I said he wasn't great, should have looked at the stats. I still find it weird he's getting stuff at every stadium he stops at.

Just noticed that Chipper wasn't an All-Star the year he won MVP. Wonder how many times that has happened.

Edit: the Google says

Hank Greenburg 1935 AL

Don Newcombe 1956 NL

Dave Parker 1978 NL

Willie Stargell 1979 NL

Kirk Gibson 1988 NL

Robin Yount 1989 AL

Terry Pendleton 1991 NL

Juan Gonzalez 1996 AL

Chipper Jones 1999 NL

Jimmy Rollins 2007 NL

Awesome. That is incredibly easy to do in slow pitch, btw, and seeing the look on people's faces when you catch them is probably as much fun as you can have playing slow pitch.

How the [expletive] did Jimmy Rollins win an MVP? He only had a 6.9 fwar in 07, lower than Soriano, Holliday, Utley, Chipper, Pujols and Wright.

I think Holliday should have won that year for MVP and Tulo DEFINITELY should have received the GG over Rollins.

Wright was dinged for the Mets collapse that year. That narrative overrode Holliday and Colorado. Pujols and Chipper played on middling squads, plus Pujols had a subpar year by the lofty heights he had already achived. Utley and Soriano weren't exciting enough.
