I think I'm ready to fast forward to when we're good again.

You don't want to wish away a half-decade of your life like that.

Somebody's never seen the major motion picture Click

It had it's moments, certainly more so than the 2012 Cubs.

Remember guys, each year is an opportunity to win a championship and every year is sacred.

I'm starting to think part of Theo's plan is to bottom out this year and get the #1 pick. There were a ton of short term things he could have done to build at least a respectable team without harming the long term plan or blocking prospects from playing in the bigs. I guess if you aren't gonna win the title, you might as well suck terribly and get the #1 pick.

Theo also knew that this year is pretty much the only chance he has to completely suck in a major market and not get crucified, so given the new draft rules, etc he figured the best way improve was to suck.

I'm sure the fact that he was admittedly burned out after 10 years of high-pressure seasons in Boston didn't make it easier to justify this route to himself, either.

I just hope he feels better after just tanking one or two seasons.

At least Ian Stewart had a clutch RBI. Guy can't carry the team himself, though.

So ummm, there wouldn't happen to be any super elite talent to be available in June 2013 with the first few draft picks, would there? Just trying to find a silver lining to the bad.

Nothing super spectacular yet that I know of, but I mean any No. 1 overall should be pretty good.

Remember like halfway through the Cardinals game when were were about to go 3-5 and had a +7 run differential.

Hold on to the good times, you never know how short they may be.

And ruin all the woe is me that is the lifeforce of half the people on here?

any particular reason DeWitt hit for Castro?

Must be because he's such a good pinch hitter, no?

Karsten Whitson is the very early favorite to go first. Way too early though, still time for someone to come in and be an uberstud.

Then he must have had a stroke or something and his brain is dead because that's moronic. I need a Photoshop of Morbo screaming "BUILDING BASEBALL TEAMS DOES NOT WORK THAT WAY."

I think Ryne Stanek has pitched himself ahead of Whitson (who keeps getting hurt).

There are a couple prep guys who should compete for 1.1 (but no Josh Beckett/Justin Upton/Bryce Harper types who everyone knew would go in the top 2 the next year): Georgia OF Austin Meadows, Kentucky RHP Clinton Hollon and California C Jeremy Martinez.

I thought Theo was supposed to bring some sort of new "organizational philosophy" with him in regards to taking pitches and better AB's and whatnot?

So where the hell is it?
