This should be amazingly entertaining. Still, what an ass.

I wonder if ESPN will make a special ticker for this.

I have a feeling that this thread is going to provide an entertaining diversion throughout the season...

I almost think Valentine and Ozzy are suffering from borderline personality disorder.

Can't wait til they decide to stop paying Bobby because when he interviewed he said that he would be "significantly better" at handling the players in the locker room.

I can't believe a man that tried this

“Maybe (that works) in Japan or something, but over here, the U.S., we're on a three-game winning streak,” second baseman Dustin Pedroia said. “We want to feel good and keep it rolling.”

Youkilis, who has struggled but had gotten up to .200 by going 4-for-10 in the first three games of series with the Rays, was stunned by the whole thing, saying, “I'm more confused than anything because I think everyone knows I go out and play the game as hard as I can and it's just my style of play.”

Valentine said he was surprised his comment gained so much attention and added that he had apologized to Youkilis.

Bobby is surprised that back-handed swipes at a beloved Red Sox player gained so much attention in the baseball-obsessed Boston media market ? Just wait until the Bruins and Celtics playoff seasons finish...

He is being boo'd unmeciflully by the Boston fans every time he takes the field. They were particularly virulent during that 9-0, in the 6th but coughed up the lead to the YANKEES game!

Heading back to the dugout he had the balls to tip his cap and smile to the crowd.

The Boston Globe:

The original Red Sox lineup had Darnell McDonald playing left field, Kelly Shoppach catching, and David Ortiz hitting sixth. Seemed a little strange given that the Twins were starting a righthander.

Then, after a while, bench coach Tim Bogar posted a new lineup. Ryan Sweeney was back in there, as was Jarrod Saltalamacchia. And Ortiz was hitting sixth.

"The one that was posted was for the lefthander that I thought was pitching today,” Valentine admitted with a hearty laugh.

Salty caught the mistake.

OK.
