the kids are given scholarships, free education, and the really good players go on to be professionals. don't the schollies include free room and board, too? plus the ancillary perks of being a revenue sport scholarship athlete.

the people that generally advocate paying these kids are generally alumns and fans of schools like kentucky.

If UK is doing it (which I think they are), why would I want other schools to do the same and take away the competitive advantage?

Given the amount of what is taken in by the NCAAs and the universities, I don't think it is fair that Thomas Robinson has the same perks as their best field hockey player given what he has brought to KU over other athletes.

early reports are that KU will get Norm Roberts to replace Manning, not Howard (who I would've preferred.) Does that mean Howard to UK? That's the last thing anyone needs.

That's what it appears to be, there's mutual interest there.

When you lose possibly 6 1st rounders, it doesn't hurt. It's hard to say what he'll do given what has already been mentioned about UK's classes under Calipari, but if gives UK another outstanding recruiter and Howard a greater selling point to potential recruits.

So for 3 years he's been telling Jabari Parker he needs to stay home, not he's gonna try and convince him otherwise for a year? Guess he will have to use the same pitch they did on Anthony Davis.
