Also, any word on Volstad's velocity yesterday?

From Tim Sheridan's Blog at BOS:

I was sneaking a peak at the scout's radar guns today and noticed Volstad was clocking around 91 and 92 mph

Sheridan also notes that Volstad broke a couple of bats.

Marlon Byrd with a HR as the CUBS extend their lead over the white sox to 4-1 in the top of the 6th.

Randy Wells with a nice outing..... 2-2/3 innings, 1 hit, 0 runs, 0 BB, 1 K

Game on WGN today, though listening to Hawk and Stone has been painful. They were getting their yuks at the expense of sabermetrics for a bit, which made my head hurt.

The lineup today is uninspiring, as was Travis Wood.

The battle for the final two rotation spots is going to be interesting.

... and just like that..... Rodrigo Lopez puts up a nice 1-2-3 inning.

Looking forward to tomorrow's game being on WGN...and w/o Hawk in the booth.

And hopefully with a more compelling lineup. No disrespect to Edgar Gonzalez, Joe Mather, etc.

Works out well for me since I'm missing today's game at work.

Rhee looked impressive striking out the side in the 8th.

Were you actually watching, or just get that from box score?

If you were watching, any scouting observations on him? Fast? Sharp breaking ball?

Would love to see some young pitcher emerge as being legit.

Watching. Nice movement on the breaking stuff and the change looked really good and got swings and misses. He didn't appear to be throwing particularly hard, but there wasn't a velo displayed. He was throwing primarily offspeed and breaking pitches.

Nice. Too bad they didn't post velos.

Definitely noticeable that Barney put on some muscle.
