I expect that it was probably just part of the sales pitch to get Bush to come here.

Agreed. Although you can throw a lot and still rack up rushing yardage if you're really good. The Saints had 4 RB rack up just over 2000 yards on 398 carries, while adding 1200 yards in the air. If his vision is NO Saints, but consolidated between 2 backs, its a vision I can get behind. (While admitting we aren't actually good enough to acheive it)

4000 from Cutler plus 2000 from Forte Bush = 6000 yards in the season. Would only be 12th in the NFL for last year so I think its doable.

 

Fake edit: Not sure if the stats I am looking at are from total yards including special teams or just offensive yards but too lazy to look up)

I'm kind of surprised people are treating the Colts like an easy win. With Luck, they could be this year's 2011 Panthers. Not that great, but good enough to give you a headache on most days.

 

I think the Rams will be an easier win to be honest.

The Colts are a terrible team starting a rookie QB in his first career game on the road. If we lose, we're in for a long season.

 

Exactly. We can/will likely go 1-1 without Urlacher. If not, it will be awful.

I was watching the Titans/Cardinals game last night and was thinking I really am sad the Bears couldn't have found a way to get Kamerion Wimbley and make it work cap wise, him on once side and Peppers on the other would have been deadly.

Not that he's not good, but I think the Cardinals are gonna make a lot of pass rushers look pretty good this year.

I found this part about Tommie Harris to be interesting...

 

a peachy June morning began like most: At 9 a.m., Forte was at Lake Forest High leading a group of assorted current and former NFL players through running drills. But one guy was missing: former Bears defensive tackle Tommie Harris. The night before, Harris, who is looking for another shot in the league, had told Forte that he'd be there at 9 a.m. sharp. Well, he wasn't. At 10:30, Harris finally sauntered onto the field. "You gonna run?" Forte said. "Nah, man," Harris said. "This is easy."

The Bears are on national TV tonight right?

 

Correct. CBS. Thank the Giants. Apparently teams are allowed to sell the rights to their home preseason games, and the Giants sold theirs to CBS.

They haven't worn them since the 09 opener, when Urlacher got hurt, Cutler threw 50 picks, and Mannelly snapped the ball to Garrett Wolfe on a punt. Either Urlacher doesn't get to choose the uniform combo anymore, or he thinks they're cursed.
