My problem with McClellin is when you have needs at WR, DE, OL AND CB, and you have almost the pick of the litter at a couple of those positions, you don't draft the guy who *might* work in your system.

Also, wtf is wrong with the kids mouth? It's like 1/2" wide

What cornerback would you have taken? All three that had first round grades were off the board. Taking a corner would have been an even worse reach.

And yet you know it better than the pros. I'm not against criticizing picks, but you're way over the top on this one. The guy was a first round rated pick. They probably reached a bit. But it's not like there's never been a productive NFL player from Boise before.

in chicago, the "pros" have generally gotten these picks wrong, this year looks to be no different. i don't see why you all are so married to the idea that "pros" don't make terrible mistakes.

Oh geez, I make one comment and I'm married to it? I'm just not married to the idea that this is definitely a horrible, awful pick, and that you or jersey know that right off the bat when these the Bears think it was the right one. Maybe it turns out bad....all draft picks are gambles and the Bears have certainly made their share of bad picks. But I'm just trying to defend the guy from some of the absolute venom that's coming from some of you guys on this pick.

i don't know, you guys are the ones talking about how the pros are so smart and have so much information that they can't possibly fail.

I hate to say it, but I would give up our 1st next year, to get 33 and take Hill. It'd leave us with one pick in the first three rounds next year, but I'd do it. Take a DT and O Linemanin the 2nd and 3rd, and hope one of Dennard or Hosley lasts until the 4th. Our 1st next year, should be in the 20's and I think having Hill alongside Marshalls would give us an elite passing attack.

Not to belabor the useless argument, but I don't think he's ever said anything close to that.

I've seen Bears mock drafts with the following at #50 so far today:

Zach Brown

Alshon Jeffery

Reuben Randle

Janoris Jenkins

Casey Hayward

Mike Adams might be available, lots of other guys. We should get a good player at #50. Which means we will pick someone with less of a 'name' than the guys above and set everyone off again, haha.

This nonsense about McClellin being a tweener or too small needs to stop. The NFL is littered with guys his size or smaller that play in or have played in the 4-3. John Abraham, Elvis Dumerville, Jason Babin, Cliff Avril, Trent Cole, Mark Anderson, and Robert Mathis just to name a few.

The lack of competition is not such a terrible argument, but there's plenty of examples of players that have come from secondary programs as well. They succeeded without facing elite competition in college. Jason Babin went to Western Michigan and Mathis went to freaking Alabama A&M.

This in no way means he's a lock to be as productive as any one of those players. It just doesn't mean he's doomed or even unlikely to pan out. I think it would be best if everyone just cooled down from the polarizing statements and take a wait and see approach.

I dunno, I'm kinda hoping we can get that one guy to actually commit to cutting off one of his balls.

yeah, but we'll need proof and who wants to confirm that mess?

so we have a lottery ticket, what insight.

I never said that.

yes, you never said we had a lottery ticket, you said we had a piece of paper with numbers on it that may or may not win us money based on a chance drawing. but i agree, you never used the term lottery ticket.

McClellin is no less of a lottery ticket than every player picked after Blackmon. Why you assume he's a lottery ticket with a missing number is beyond me.

How much have you seen McClellin play?

It doesn't matter. Sulley's not trying for rational arguments at this point folks. He's looking for exactly what you're giving him.

You're probably right. I'll stop asking.

Thinking about it more this morning, I hope passing on Riley wasn't a mistake. I don't agree with people that say he doesn't have the athleticism to play left tackle in the NFL. I think he has plenty and will be very solid. But we shall see.

i've never seen an orangutan play checkers but i know that they aren't suited for it. even if all you know is highlight film, the absence of a bull-rush sack or tfl from a film demonstrating his good plays is pretty glaring if you're hoping he's going to be one of your front 4 players.

he's not a 4-3 end, the only other teams interested in him were the pats and packers. guess what they play, go ahead, guess.

he has the athleticism, he's a great pass-blocker. the only question on him are his short arms, which are longer than joe thomas's
